How is the Garden Grill?

Glad to hear all the good reviews! We will be eating at GG in August & I'm confused as to the menu...people mention catfish, steak, etc, but the 2006 UG & Passporter list 'carved beef strip loin...chipotle-glazed chicken...sauteed mussels, shrimp & scallops with pasta...'.

Has anyone been there since the new menu? Is it still all you can eat? PP states 'choice of one'.

Eagerly awaiting information... :Pinkbounc

The GG briefly - in 2005 - went to the menu that the Passporter lists. Disney changed it back to the original catfish, flank steak AYCE skillet after the new menu was not received well. It's moreorless the same as it was before except for dessert which changed from cobbler to a dessert sampler with cheesecake, etc.

Just subscribing . . .
have a PS for August and would love the answer the above question, too!

We had lunch last week at the Garden Grill and loved it. The food was very good and our server was great. I think we had the best character interaction here than at any of our other character meals. They all stopped by many times and goofed around with all of us. And the kids loved that the restaurant turned.

We really like the Garden Grill. However, we haven't been there since they changed the menu. I'll let you know after our December trip.

The decor leaves a bit to the imagination, but the food is a nice change of pace from the heavy carbs. Best of all, the character interaction is great -- especially when it is slower (early December). Mickey actualy got UNDER THE TABLE with my pouting 3 yr old DD until she was happy again. Now, if that isn't service ...

We are eating there next May ,I know along time away. DGD picked it out becouse it revolves ,I really think she thinks it spins. I will be the only one eating catfish. Can you get more desserts I saw a post with picture and they looked tiny?

ITA!
We had lunch there last week too (Monday). :sunny:

Character interaction was excellent with ample time for pictures. :thumbsup2

Food was very good overall (although the catfish flavor was overpowered by the breading flavor). The pecan dessert was EXCELLENT. :cloud9:

LOL, we were afraid to ask for more (I am not sure why, they happily gave out seconds on the entree food) but the desserts were indeed tiny.

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) thought the dessert sizes were ample. :sunny:

I don't know if you can ask for more or not.

Been there several times. Food is good. All you can eat, so ask for more. The best thing is the character interaction. They seem to always be walking around to your table. Great for kids.

Go for lunch. If I remember correctly, the only difference is the price and a salad with dinner.

I fully recommend it.

I never thought I could use the term relaxing AND character interaction in a sentence about ONE restaurant, but GG manages to pull it off... but shhhhh is was our little secret. :cool1: :rotfl2:

You say the food is all you can eat, does that mean you can ask for more desserts?

We have been a few times - my family loves it and we are going again in August. It is a nice little secret, but I think with the new Soarin' ride in the Land, others will stumble upon it.

We have the absolute best pictures of our kids here with Mickey. The characters really hang around, color with the kids, steal their hats, etc. Very fun.

But the reason I go - THE best salad at WDW! I know that sounds weird, but they get all the veggies from the Land Pavilion, so fresh, and the dressing is just right. I never thought I'd salivate about a salad, but - YUM.
