How is TGM for short trips?

Tour Guide Mike fans...will his touring plans be beneficial for my super-short trip?

4 adults (2 mothers, 2 adult daughters) are going to WDW for a long weekend this October. We are arriving Thursday and we have tickets for MNSSHP that evening so we know where we'll be Thrusday from 4-midnight. We are staying onsite.

Friday and Saturday we will purchase 2-day MYW with park-hopping. I was planning to go to Animal Kingdom/Epcot Friday and MGM/Epcot Saturday.

Do you think it would be beneficial to invest in Tour Guide Mike? or does his system work better for longer vacations? My mother & I are WDW veterans but our travel partners are first-timers. I'm afraid that if we don't have a good plan they will be so overwhelmed that we'll all stress-out...and I just want everyone to have fun.

I've read all I can find about TGM's site but I haven't seen anything indicating that it works for weekend trips. Can someone please lend some advice?

Sure, TGM can work for weekend trips. You can effectively use TGM's AVP for a one-day trip, a one-week trip, a two-week trip...I was in WDW for 2 days in August and used TGM to plan them. :flower:

However, I will concede that purchasing the AVP may not seem "worth it" if you're only going to get 2 days out of it. Now, having said that, would I purchase the AVP for 2 days in WDW? You bet! The up-to-date advice and information you get on that site is worth it. You can get a $3 discount code from themouseforless, so you're not even paying the full price for the AVP. AND when you get back, you can renew your AVP for your next trip (even if you don't know when it is yet), and pay even less.

I haven't looked specifically, but I'm sure he has lots of MNSSHP info and advice, and I know that there's at least one thread devoted to that topic on the message board.

Now, if it were just you and your mom, I may say wait till next time to get the TGM AVP. BUT since you are going with "newbies", I'd say it's well worth the $18.95 to give them a fabulous vacation and not stress them out.

And as has been said over and over again, if you make the purchase and then think that TGM is not for you, Mike will gladly issue you a refund. Worst case for you? You purchase and then get a refund. Best case? You purchase and find that it's everything you need!

My vote: give TGM a go! :bounce:
