Hi,
We are going on our second trip to wdw in May. We want to try Teppan Edo. I would like to know if it is good meal, good use of DDP credit, and good for kids. If you have any pics of your meal that would help cause DH is not adventurous eater.
Thanks....

NOTE: The hibachi tables seat eight (two each side, four
front side). Sometimes they can squeeze nine if several kids.
Depending upon the chef, it can be exciting and entertaining,
or it can be almost dull. Quality is below a Benihana, but above
average. It should be noted that medium-large or large appetites
will probably want to stop before or after dinner for a snack,
as the portions are medium-sized and big eaters can leave hungry.
As a side, it is usually entertaining for the kiddies, even for the
chefs who are not that artistic.

Its ok, we have a hibachi style restaurant near our house that is better. My kids had some sort of teriyaki chicken or steak and rice, they liked it. They also had tempura style shrimp. We weren't impressed enough to go back.

We had previously enjoyed Teppan Edo twice..but our third visit, this past May, was underwhelming.
I had the scallops (4 to be exact)..they were ok..not super filling or super flavorful. DH had the steak and thought it was good. The noodles were not good...a little splash of soy sauce, TONS of onions and a cup of sesame seeds. Yuk. Kids liked their meals well enough, one had the chicken the other had the shrimp.
It wasn't terrible, but we won't be rushing back.

We went this week and enjoyed it. The kids really loved it. I had the vegetarian dish and I thought it was good. I also liked the green tea pudding. My kids wanted to go again while we were there. We used the ddp and it worked out fine.

Thank you all...I am still undecided. What about Le Cellier for lunch? I have been reading some good reviews and bad ones. I guess that I have to make up my mind before next month.

The food is pretty basic, you have veggies, steamed or boiled noodles and chicken, steak or shrimp and its cooked in butter or oil with soy sauce, salt and pepper, maybe a squeeze of lemon

Nothing wrong with the food but the value isnt there if you eat at local hibachi places that give you alot more for your money like soup, salad, appie shrimp, fried rice etc.

We chose the filet and it was the best filet we've had anywhere. I loved the noodles and veggies, but there are a lot of veggies, and most kids won't like them (mushrooms, onions, zucchini). Green tea pudding really surprised me in a good way, but I didin't care for the cake dessert DH got.

If you get a good chef, it can be a really fun show, like the table across from us. Our chef was more of a down to business. Not as fun as the other guy, but still a neat show.

We'd go again and I think it was a great use of DDP since it's only 1 credit.

We enjoyed the food and our chef was great, but we were stuck with 2 boring couples who wouldn't crack a smile or anything :confused3..I think in the type of dining environment it would be fun if the people you are sharing your table with had some life in them...That is my only gripe, but yeah, we all enjoyed our food :thumbsup2

we LOVE teppan edo! :goodvibes Its one of our fave restaurants. the filet mignon is DELISH! So is the chicken, and the noodles. Both desserts are wonderful. My son and i love this place. We go there every trip. Its quite entertaining! I say give it a try if you dont normally go to a hibachi place in your hometown. :thumbsup2

We went to Teppan Edo last week and the food was great. We had a party of 6 (3 adults and 3 kids DD6, DS5, DS2). The only issue we had was my kids love steak but the kids meal doesn't have steak as an option. So I ordered the steak and the kids ordered the chicken so we switched our meals. Also the edamame soybeans were not as good as our local japanese restaurant. Overall the experience was entertaining and good service. It's good to have a variety of meals at WDW and not get burned out on kids chicken nuggets for every meal. Also, if you go to HS, try to Hollywood & Vine! The buffet selection was the best and desserts were numerous. The beef tips were excellent. Plus our kids love Handy Manny, Oso, and Little Einsteins.
Enjoy your planning.

We were there last week and it was very good! I had the filet and it was very moist and flavorful. It was one of the better TS meals we had all week. I had the ginger/chocolate cake for dessert and it was to die for! My 8 year old had the kids shrimp and he is still talking about how good it was. We were all very pleased and I would recommend it to anyone.

Teppan Edo is a must do for us each trip. We love it. The food is excellent and the "show" is fun.
It is way better than our local Japanese Steakhouse
Enjoy

:thumbsup2 This! Our whole family loves it! Even though my DS is not a big veggie eater, he ALWAYS finishes every bite:)
