This is our first trip in the last couple of years where we won't be staying at the All-Star Movies Resort. We were wondering if the Roaring Fork at WL is at all comparable to the food courts at the All Stars. Is the breakfast a good deal for the price?

Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again! :D

The roaring fork I believe is the snack bar they have there. It does have some tables. I would not call it a food court. The so called delux resorts do not have food courts.

The Roaring Forks is nothing like the food court. The food court has a vast selection. The roaring forks is more like a deli cafe. Both are wonderful, but different. Even though RF doesn't have a hugh selection, the food is still pretty good. Whispering Canyons at WL is also wonderful and not that pricey!

The food is fine for what it is - just regular snack bar food. The menu is much smaller than that at the value or moderate food courts. Here is a link to the Roaring Forks menu on the WDWIG site.

We thought it was fine for grabbing something quick in the morning and we even had lunch there a few times. I definately wouldn't plan on eating there for every meal, though. I agree that Whispering Canyon Cafe is wonderful for breakfast, and not that expensive.

AS Foodcourts have alot more variety then Roaring Forks. They have many of the basic items.

I was less than impressed with Roaring Forks for breakfast. Expensive bad donuts (I hear they are Krispy Kremes - and I think Krispy Kremes are disgusting - for which I'm apparently in a minority - so YMMV). Cereal bars and pop tarts which we could have brought along and had in the room for a quarter of the price. Weak coffee (par for Disney World), and, for most of breakfast, a mob scene. The breakfast grill food was OK, but they had problems meeting demand.

I did enjoy some of the food we got from the grill there in the evenings. They did a Philly Style steak sandwich one night as the special that was good.

Whispering Canyon is not that much more expensive - if you are actually going to do more than wolf down a bagel.

I have to agree that Roaring Forks is NOTHING like the food court at AS Movies. AS Movies offers basically everything for brakfast, where as Roaring Forks basically does a continental breakfast with a FEW warm items. They have pancakes, no waffles, a brakfast burrito, and I think a daily special. No eggs cooked to order, etc. As everyone else has stated Whispering Canyon has a sit down all you can eat breakfast for around $9 -$10 and it's VERY good.

Thanks for all the great info - we understand that Roaring Fork is nowhere near the size as the All Star foodcourts - nor does it offer the vast variety as the All Stars - I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a horrible mistake to eat there. ;)

We're not sure yet if we'll even have enough time to eat there, as we'll only be there 2 nights (2 mornings.) I think we are planning on trying Whispering Canyon for breakfast one morning instead - just not sure how well we'll deal with the antics early in the morning. ;)

Thanks again for all the input!
