How is Pepper Market for dinner?

I saw the menu for Pepper Market online, and the dinner menu looks excellent (actually, all their menus look great!). I am aware of the 10% service charge which we would have to pay OOP on the DDP, and that is not a problem for us. This just seems like such a great value on the DDP, and the choices seem excellent for dinner. We could get something simple if we want to, like a sandwich or burger, or something nicer like a steak.

So how is Pepper Market for dinner? Does it get very crowded there, say between 5 and 6PM? How is the food? Is it worth it to drive there for dinner from BWV (we will have the car with us)? It would be nice not to have to make an ADR for the first night, and just go there shortly after we check-in and use that day's CS credit on dinner.

Dh and I ate there in Oct on the way to check in at the AKL...click on my Oct link for pics and stuff.

We both had the Mexican and it was good! I would go back to eat there again

I believe that the service surcharge is covered with the DDP. Correct me if I might be wrong.

I was under the impression that the DDP does not cover any service charges. I thought this included the Pepper Market and was prepared to pay OOP for that.

We went for dinner last Oct. and it was empty. I don't think we went super early. Maybe around 6ish?? We were there for about an hour. It never got crowded.

We were on the DDP & it covered everything. I thought we had to pay the extra amount & were told no. Our ticket said 0 like all the rest. We did leave the appropriate tip just in case.

We will be returning again this year. We enjoyed it & CSR is lovely. We also like the fact that is more like a TS, with the freedom to plan at your own pace since it is CS.

Thanks! This is why I thought Pepper Market would be a good choice for the first evening...freedom of not having an ADR (in case we get there a bit later, accounting for traffic, or other problems getting there) but still eating some good food! I like the idea that I could still have a steak the first night if I really want one, without making an ADR!

We used up our last few credits there on the last day of our trip this past December..and we will not be going back! We didn't like the food..it might have just been a bad day but there are lots of counter service places with better food.

I was there in July of '07 and we won't go there again unless we are staying at CSR and need someplace quick. It wasn't terrible, just blah. We wouldn't make it a point to go there if we were staying someplace else. As for crowd levels in the summer it was difficult to find a table at times during peak dining hours.

We have been to CSR three trips and have eaten at PM once each trip. Each trip we say never again but the convenience wins out. This trip we got in at about 7pm. There were two conventions and lots of people but we still got a table ok. the mexican and pizzas are fine. Not good but fine. It really brasses me off though to pay a service charge when all they do is show you to your table and get you a drink (if you're lucky you get it with your meal - no hope for refills on any of our trips!)

This time around we had one water, one soft drink and one coffee, one pizza, one mexican set plate and one chicken sandwich for $80+

Pizza is small but good, mexican is fine not good but fine, chicken sandwich was fine too.

It's really convenient but to be honest the pool bar is better.

I really enjoyed PM when there this past Dec. We ate there 2 times and had good service and food. I thought the chicken sandwich was great and it was PLENTY of food. I don't think my husband or I ate our entire meal and the girls loved their cheese pizza's.

We are staying again at CSR in May and will eat there a couple times I am sure. :wizard:

we loved PM!!
we had a group of 10 & it was nice to go & everyone could choose what they wanted from a large variety of foods!
the portions were HUGE!!!
my only gripe was sometimes you had to wait for a CM to see you waiting to get some pasta or soup
Id go back!!!
