How is Papa Johns Pizza?

I used to love Papa John's, years ago. We got it again a few months ago (it had been a while) and I didn't like it at all. It was way too greasy, and I like greasy pizza. However, I do LOVE their breadsticks. Those are too die for--especially with the garlic butter sauce. I would definitely try it out and see how it is. Just make sure to get the breadsticks too!!

Well, as someone who doesn't like ANY kind of pizza, I can tell you that I always prefer it when DH & DD order from Papa John's because I love that garlic/butter sauce. I'll steal everyone's crusts and make a meal out of that.

It's ok, I know I'm weird.

We had it once a few years ago when we were down the shore. I didn't like it at all. The sauce was too sweet :crazy2: . I also don't like Dominoes. But I do like pizza hut pan pizza.

SOOOOOO GOOD!!!
Definitely try the garlic sauce with the pizza and breadsticks.
The chicken fingers are also incredibly yummy.

As chain pizza goes its OK. They really don't put many toppings on it, so the garlic dip for the crust is the only thing it really has going for it. It use to be great for a cheap pizza, but now its about the same price as our local "wonderful" pizza place.

In Garland, they load it up from what I remember :earboy2: I guess they all vary greatly.
It must be the locations vary. We had one last weekend, and I swear one piece had sauce, cheese and an olive slice on it. This was an combination pizza so you would expect more than an olive on it!!!

I love PJ's. In fact we are doing the buy 1, get 1 special tonight!! YUM!! YUM!!!

The butter-garlic sauce is the best!!!

:crazy2:

If you're in NY, ordering Papa John's would be close to criminal behavior ;) Not even close to a good NY pizza.

Edited to add: Papa John's is awful IMO. But then again, I'd say the same for Dominos, Pizza Hut and any other chain pizza I've had.

I completely agree with this post. ::yes::

Its like a typical chain store pizza....nothing like the real thing!

As the others have stated it is your typical chain Pizza in my opinion. I personally think it is better than Domino's and Little Cesear's, and arguably better than Pizza Hut too, but when compared to the other local pizzaria's it is not all that hot.

Here in the Chicago area, and I suspect also in the NY area, where Pizza is pretty much a local delicacy I think most people look upon it as a cheaper almost 'fake' pizza. We went to visit family in south Florida a few years back and they were raving about this wonderful local pizza place that just opened and they brought in Papa John's. It was good, but kind of made me laugh when the best pizza place in the area is a Papa John's. But I know my Brother in law, who moved from here to south Florida not too long ago, is always complaining about the pizza and hot dogs down there. I guess it is all in what you are used to.

Definately my favorite chain pizza---particularly their thin crust.

I find PIzza Hut around here pretty hit or miss and Dominos- :crazy2:

Its the only pizza my mom would order, but I didn't care for it much. Though I did LOVE that garlic butter sauce =)

Awesome! I love it...but haven't had it in over a year!

We like it, especially with the garlic butter sauce. But we haven't ordered pizza from there in quite awhile.

No matter what room I eat a Papa Johns pizza in, becuase soon afterward I will find myself sitting in a much smalller room with porcelen furiture delaing with the consequences.
