How is mid nov for a disney vacation

Hello:

Weather wise and crowd wise is mid nov a good time to travel to wdw?

Deb.

I have gone during Thanksgiving week 4 times and twice during Veterans weekend. Most days I wear shorts and can swim. One day or so it might be chilly and need jeans but usually temps 70-85. Crowds aren't too bad either because they have extended hours.

I am going this year 11/8-11 and plan on packing shorts(hopefully)!

November can fluctuate a lot it seems. I was there about the 4th to 13th 3 years ago and the mornings and evenings were quite chilly. Ended up having to buy a hoodie because I wasn't expecting it and wore capris/pants the entire week. It warmed up in the afternoons, but was never hot.

I'm going mid Nov this year and plan to bring a light jacket and mostly capris.

Crowd wise it varies a lot too. Weekends can be quite busy, but weekdays aside from Jersey week in early Nov and Thanksgiving week crowds seem pretty low. The crowd predictors I'm looking at for my week are showing mostly 1 to 4 (goes up to 10 as the hightest).

The weeks before and after Thanksgiving are great weeks to visit the World. For us the weather has always been good with at most a light jacket, sweater or hoodie for the evening hours. Personally, I was always comfortable without added clothes to keep warm.

We have always had more good weather than bad in November. We don't like the heat of summer and don't mind a light jacket in mornings and evenings (if necessary). Water parks are usually a go, but we come from Michigan, so anything over 70 is swimming weather in November!

Avoid the week that the State of New Jersey (early November) doesn't have school, Veteran's Weekend and Thanksgiving week and its great. "Jersey Week" is not horrible if you do some planning. We have always had good weather and low crowds going the full week before Thanksgiving week.

Hopefully great! ;)

We'll be there 11/11 to 11/17 and a crowd calendar (I think My First Visit) had it as the 6th slowest week for the year (ie. only 5 weeks are less busy). And I'm told the weather is generally in the low 80s during the day.

I expect to be able to swim, wear shorts (or at least lightweight pants) and t-shirts and have a jacket for the evening.

We're booked for November 17th thru the 24th. I'm pretty sure these dates don't include Jersey Week. I hope. Yes?

The end of the trip, though, is the weekend before Thanksgiving. Should we be concerned about crowds?

Last year we went the second week in December and since there was no bounceback offered for that week this year, we decided on November, which we've never done before. And, btw, the end of the week that we were there it got pretty darned crowded, especially at WL, where we were staying.

Thanks for any and all info!

We went last year mid-Nov and there was a cold snap for a few days. Windy and temps in the 50s. I had to buy a hoodie, etc. Then it warmed up a lot, more like shorts and tees weather. So, I agree, Nov. can be unpredictable. Crowds weren't bad, since F&W was done. I still prefer end of Sept-early October, before Columbus day.

the weather is always a risk, but nov is usually a great time to go if you hate the heat and humidity.

nov - excluding thanksgiving - is a great time to go to avoid crowds.

the only downside about going before thanksgiving week is that christmas decorations likely won't be complete yet.

Jersey Week is earlier in the month. First full week, I believe. You will see crowds start to pick up the 23rd and 24th as people arrive for Thanksgiving week. Make sure you've been to all the parks before that weekend and keep those two days flexible and you should be fine. FYI: www.easywdw.com recommends EPCOT for the 23rd and DS for the 24th if you are going to parks. Have a great time!

LOVE that time of year! We would always go the 2nd or 3rd week of November if we could, but now that DD15 is in high school we can only go when she has days off.

We love the cooler weather (we can still swim), it's not packed, and the Christmas decorations (especially Osbourne Lights).

Weekends will be busy during F&W. The Friday-Monday of Veterans weekend was very crowded (August level crowds).

Yes! This is why we love going in November. We usually go first week or so in Nov, going 2nd-10th this year. Low heat & humidity, love being able to go swimming, since we live in Western New York, and by that time, the Northeast is deep into fall, and it's heating season for us! We're glad to wear shorts again, with most days mid to upper 70s, very little humidity, and hardly ever rains (at least it hasn't when we've gone!)

But you hit on my absolute favorite part of going in November. Getting to see Christmas decorations without paying the Christmas Week prices, and also Obsourne Family lights, one my all time favorite things at WDW.

Thank you, soccer mom! I'm a little bit wary of the 23rd and 24th. Last year, even December 14th and 15th were pretty crowded--for my taste, anyway.
We're still deciding if we're going to keep the reservation or go in the end of January instead, assuming some kind of RO discount appears.

Whenever we go, we are sure to have a good time!

I've been wondering this myself. Mostly I've been worried about the weather. We're staying at the Yacht Club for Stormalong Bay and I'm hoping the kids can get some swimming in. Originally we were at the Beach Club, but I was able to get free dining if we moved next door. First time in a deluxe. We"ll be there for Thanksgiving Week, but we can handle the crowds. We've only ever been during President's Week or Easter so we don't know any better. :goodvibes
