we are staying at CSR the first time this year--- and i saw the menu for Maya and it looks really good-- i just need to hear some good reviews first:) whats everyone opinion on this place? love it ? Hate it? whats good whats not? thanks for the help:)

I see that for lunch the Maya Grille is buffet. Is this new ? We have eaten at restaurant and think it is way to dark and very tight around the table. Food was OK that we had. Love the setting for a meal. Would be interested in trying a buffet from their.

We went about in Dec. 08 and we really enjoyed it!!! DH loved the fried cheesecake :)

I haven't eaten here either, but I put it on my list for 2010. I did just read that as of 2/23, breakfast will now be served a la carte, lunch will be a buffet, and dinner will be standard table service.

I've never eaten there but evertime I suggested eating there when making my ADR with my AAA agent, she steered me away every time.

We ate there in September. We thought the food was great. It was not very crowded and our waitress was awesome. We will most likely go there on our next trip as well.

Looks like it might be a good place to go when nothing is available elsewhere. Based on the lack of response its probably easy to get an ADR. I've never been there but based on the feedback here, I'll have to try it.

and in January, the place was almost empty.

So yes, we have been there - January 2010. Review in my signature below...Maya Grille was last place we ate at that trip, so the review (with pictures) is towards the end of the January 2010 review.

We have eaten there many times and enjoyed it every time. It is never crowded the the food is very good./ Service has been great - plus love their Margaritas!!

We did end up eating there again on our last trip. We were alittle disappointed because the menu had changed less than a week before we ate there and our favorites were no longer on teh menu, but the food we ordered was good none the less! We had the best service there though. Our waiter was absolutely the BEST!

I have not heard anything about Maya opening for lunch (it has never been opened for lunch in all the years it has been there). They used to have a buffet for breakfast but that changed to an ala carte menu almost a year ago.

Maya Grill is open for a la catre breakfast and lunch. It did have a buffet breakfast that was discontinued.

I've been staying here for years and never seen it open for lunch. Maybe they've done a corporate luncheon for an on site conference (never seen one there, but it makes sense), but I've never seen it open to the public at lunchtime. Too many people in the parks to open and staff a TS location for lunch, with Rix, the Pepper Market, and Siestas at the pool all open at that time.
