The answer is "cheap pizza". I am willing to bet that Domino's success has a lot to do with being in college towns. I can't stand the stuff now but in college a large cheese pizza could be had for $5, which (if I could keep my roommates out of it) would feed me for three nights.
Yuck, bad cardboard pizza. Even in college towns, especially in college towns, you should be able to get much better pizza. Dominos, unlike many other places, tends to be open really late and delivers - so that might be it.

If you are around Orlando, try a CiCi's Pizza. It makes Pizza Hut seem good.
One of my Grandnephews is here on College Program. I met with him six days after his arrival and went to show him useful locations for when he is driving around. I was going to warn him about CiCi's and he said he had (by mistake) tried it and was never going back, cheap as it might have been.
Most pizza is edible. I hate Pizza Hut since I never really liked them, ordered them when we were moving (one of their deals with bogo or something), then they messed it up royally. That was the nail in the coffin. I don't think Papa John's, Domino's, or Cici's are too bad, but I am a Chicago girl- I prefer the locals, especially with a nice, thin crispy crust!
I don't think I've had Domino's, but I like Pizza Hut, Pizza Pizza, Little Caesar's etc.
The Italians were complaining about the pizza that was ordered, so we let them pick out a place. It was so greasy I didn't even touch it . I'll take Pizza Hut anyday, but they were raving about that greasy blech.
