My 3.5 year old will have his first flight on a Delta Song flight Boston to Orlando. Does Song have little TV screens on the back of every seat? Did I hear that right? If it's a day flight to Orlando, they'll probably be showing a kids movie, right?

I'm trying to plan for how to keep him occupied for the 2.5 hour flight. Thanks. :earsboy:

We traveled on Song with our 3 year old in the summer, and it was great! They play Cartoon Network!

Song has seat back TVs which utilize DISH Network programming.

Cartoon Network, Discovery, FoodTV, lots of others. Plus trivia games with other pax. Music channels (with Disney songs). Plus, the channel my DS thought was the coolest....the GPS mapping program that shows where you are in flight, speed, altitude, etc.

I think you will really enjoy it.

song also offers a couple movies to rent for like $5.00 my child watched incredibles last friday. mco to hartford

The only thing I can say is that my 11 y/o dd doesn't want to ever fly with any other airline now...has to be Song!!!! She loves the little TVs and she always gets to rent one of the movies. It's just long enough for the flight into Orlando and she still gets some regular TV time. You will love it.

How long after take off until the tv's are turned on and how long before landing are they turned off.

Also, if you rent a movie, I would assume it only shows on 1 screen.

We booked Song for our two little ones, tvs on every seat, even our pediatrician recommended them - haha! :rotfl:

Is there a website link? Thanks Kat

www.flysong.com And there is quite a price war going on... I got RT from MCO to BDL (I live in FL, so my flights are 'backward' compared to yours) for $98! (and its the same for BDL to MCO... my family LOVES those price wars!!)

We fly Song out of Boston, even though TF Green is much closer. My 7 yr old son loves the TV's and the snacks. I wish we could have flown Song when he was 4 it would have been so much better of a flight. Being direct flights is even better, especially for the price. Unfortunately the rates out of Boston haven't been as good this spring as last year or the ones out of NY and other places. The more desirable flights have filled up really fast. All of us New Englanders have had enough of the snow and want to go south for a little warm fun. May can't come fast enough. :sunny:

You will love Song! They do have earplug type headphones. I would suggest you bring your own over the head headphones for your DS. The earplugs dont stay in small ears that well. I now pack my DS6 CD headphones for him then when we get to Orlando he listens to his Disney tapes to/from the airport. It helps pass the time in the airport waiting for the flight to arrive. :goodvibes

DS is the little kid over in the corner jumping all around "dancing" :cool1: but he is also the one sitting quietly on the plane as he has gotten all his jumping around out of his systeim and is now tired out. :teeth:

I also spend the extra $5 to purchase an extra kids snack pack for my backpack. I like it because it has some nutrition and has all the napkins, etc.

The screens are active pretty much from boarding through de-planing. However, most of the programing won't start until almost departure time. And typically the movies don't start until sometime into the flight because the flight attendants may need to enable something for individual passengers who are having difficulty. And yes, if you rent a movie it only shows on one screen unless you also rent it for the others. If all of you are in one 3 seat row, you could just buy it for the middle screen and all three of you could SEE the movie, but the movie audio would only be available to the person sitting in the middle seat. I suppose you could bring along a "Y" adapter for the standard headphones.

Song has 10 pay per view movies available for rent. Forget the kids, Song is great for adults, DW loves to play the trivia game. :jumping1:
