How is Chef Mickey's Near Closing Time?

We have Chef Mickey booked very late - 8:50pm because it was the only time left. I have read that they close at 9:30pm. I'm not sure if that is the last seating time or if that is actually when the buffet closes down.
I was wondering if we will get less than stellar menu selections given that it is the end of the night and maybe staff is hesitant about putting out fresh food that they may end up throwing away?

Anyone have an experience with late ADRs?

As a BIG fan of Chef Mickeys (look at my user id ) I can assure you the food will be just as fresh as the first sitting...in fact I prefer the last or near last ressie time for breakfast or dinner since going there since the 1980's (when it was located at the formerly called Village Marketplace)...character interaction is fantastic at Chef Mickey's all the time but as the last diners there I have realized that we have even more time with the characters !

Our first year at Chef Mickey's we had an 8:30 seating. It was great! The food was still perfect and the crowds were very thin-extra character time!

This year we have a 9pm dinner seating and we can't wait. Have fun!

We have been once on the late side (don't remember the specific time)...it was just DH and I with no DC. Anyways, the food was good enough, characters had lots of free time to give extra special attention, I just felt like the place itself had been through a cyclone. It was kind of an odd atmosphere in my opinion--lots of clean-up to be done, really it just felt like the place itself was worn out from the day's activities. Just my 2 cents...

I was thinking the same thing. We have a 8:30 ADR for Chef Mickey and a 9:30 ADR for Boma. I was worried that we were going to get what was 'left'.
