how is bus situation at port orleans?

I haven't heard many bad experiences with PO-FQ buses. In fact, most people seem to really like it there since they get picked up before the POR folks do. There is only one bus stop for that resort, but 4 for POR.
It really isn't all that far from things. At least, not more so than any other moderate resorts. I've stayed at POR several times and I've never had reason to complain about the bus service.

We never had a problem.

If the bus filled or another one was right behind us they would just skip POR.

And yes it's not right next to any of the parks but nothing that bad a few minutes at best .

I don't like the bussing in general but the rides were not bad from POFQ. A couple minutes to enjoy the scenery.

Well, anyone can call anything "bad," but "far from things" doesn't objectively describe anything at POFQ.

The resort itself is very compact, so nothing is a far walk from anything. Really.

And as for POFQ's location within Walt Disney World, it's not an inconvenient drive to anywhere. The park it's closest to is Epcot, followed by MGM, with AK and Mk being about a toss-up for farthest from it. But like I said, nothing feels far. Actually, no park or resort within WDW is really remote or very far from anything else.

Whomever you heard that from probably just needed something to complain about that day.

Just be careful if you're leaving MK around 3:00pm! This is when they change bus drivers AND switch the signs for POR and POFQ. Before 3:00 POR and POFQ are picked up at the same depot #. AFTER 3:00, they each have their own buses. We arrived shortly before 3 one afternoon to go back to POFQ. Sign said same # for both POR/POFQ. By the time the bus came, it was after 3:00. We rode to POR, turned around and came back to MK. Driver didn't even mention the change...even after my DH asked why we weren't going to POFQ!! When we got back to MK and looked at the sign (because by this time we thought we were losing our minds!) the sign was changed.

Funny thing was, the same thing "almost" happened to us the following day, until we looked at our watches and it was 2:50pm!! Needless to say, we got on the RIGHT bus!

DH and I have stayed at FQ on are last 3 trips at 3 different times of the year and we have always found the busses to be great, the only park it seems to take a while to get too and from is AK the rest only seem like a few mins and we have never waited long for a bus to bring us to a park or to get us from a park.
