How insensitive

If i were the CMon duty i would have said to that dumb broad "im so sorry ma'm come this way ill have VIP passes for you..taken her around the corner out of anyones view and made her hideuosly deformed. What a dumb *%$#. Shes lucky her kid was just sleeping, these kids deserve every special attention and more. She should be ashamed of herself. :sad2:

What a dummy.

But like they always say, what gos around, comes around. ::yes::

I would hate to be in her shoes when she meets her maker and has to explain that one. :guilty:

Wow. That is almost unbelievable. Something in me wants SO badly to believe they didn't use those exact words..not that the actions alone would have been much better. *sigh*

I post on the CM website, and there was a response there that I liked. It was something like "How lucky for you that your kid was only sleeping". But seriously. I am so glad that I wasn't there. I probably would have lost it.

Joanna, did youmean my post? Seriously her child was taking a nap and this innocent child is being called names due to a unfortunate disability. Parents please take the time to watch your children and raise them to be the complete opposite of this wretched woman. Im am furious

I was just posting in general. That's what I would have said to that "lady". How horrible for that one family.

That's just terrible. What saddens me more than anything, is that this woman has children and she's influencing them with her demented thoughts

First off, I sometimes forget how lucky I am to be blessed with healthy children. We should all be reminded of this on occasion, and live our lives accordingly.

I couldn't help dwelling on this. Suddenly I was hit with the notion of the perfect response to such people. Since we can never seem to come up with the right words when presented with these things, I thought I would share it for anyone who wants to be prepared with a good come-back when the situation arises. Actually, I think it could be adapted for many situations, even schoolyard bullies. Just substitute in whatever offensive words were used to describe someone less fortunate. In this case, 'hideously deformed'.

"That's okay ma'am/sir, given a choice, I would rather that my body/face was hideously deformed than my character."

I think things like these are best said in a tone that is emotionless and politely quiet. It seems to carry more weight when you can keep your cool better than the person attacking you.

Just a thought. Today,I pray for strength for all who have to deal with such ignorant and nasty people.

if I had heard that remark I could not let it go by and probably would have been banned from Disney for life. How horrible!

We can only have comfort knowing that a force greater than ourselves, whatever or whoever you believe in, for me it is God, will repay that person.

Oh my - this was a very upsetting post. It is so sad to know that there are people like that in the world. I hope that the family had a truly magical time on that trip. As I sit hear thinking about what I might have done I realize that I would not have done anything more than ask the woman to step aay from the child. This person deserves no reaction or attention for this. There is nothing that will change her behavior. It would be a waste of time to react. Instead I would have focused on the child. Or if my dd had witnessed this I would have used this as a teaching example as how to not act.

I'm not surprised or shocked, only saddened.
The world is getting to be a more intolerant, unfriendly place where people feel safe saying things like that. We have heard some of them and have seen the looks from people like that woman, who maybe feel the same, but just don't put their feelings into words. Luckily, for each person like that, we usually run into a couple who are very nice.
That woman was in the wrong park; she belongs in the park with the Grinch, whose heart is 3 sizes too small.

I am extemely glad to see that not one sinlge person tried to defend this womens actions(though I think if anybody did that this thread would be locked down by now). I am also thrilled that this thread has carried on for 8 pages and consistently remained on topic and has not turned into a flame war of some some unknown origin. Thanks yawl!! If I was a moderator; I'd tag you all with something cool! But I can't...so I won't. :sunny:

BTW...If anyone cares; we will posting our Nov. Pre-trip report soon. It's our starchy son's, first trip to Disney. Spud is really looking forward to it.

I once heard a fellow nurse complain about the people with special needs that work at our local supermarket. She thought that she shouldn't have to "look at something like that" while she's getting her groceries. And this was a NURSE!!! I calmly confronted her about it and told her "That is a horrible thing to say, one of your kids could be in an accident and have problems". Nothing elaborate but it worked-she was shocked(so were the other nurses!) that I actually called her on that statement. There are some people that have a very backward view of the mentally and physically disabled-ie they should be "put away" in an institution. I have chosen to confront people because that's how they got so ignorant in the first place. That poor little girl and her family-I hope that evil B@#*ch didn't ruin their vacation.. :furious:

The castmember should have replied with:

"Ma'am, I would think that someone with the same condition as this child would have some compassion. Oh wait, your not hidiously deformed, someone just stapled your a$$ to your face."

that a disgusting thing to say about a child (or anybody for that matter) if anybody had of said that to my niece (who has downs) they would have been on the floor

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, I still can't believe that woman could be so cruel. My heart hurt when I first read what she had done. When I hear horrible stories such as this, I am reminded that people like her have no love for themselves, so how could they possibly have love for others? Even so, that is absolutely no excuse for her horrid behavior.

That comment just shocked me. If I were standing there I probably wouldn't have said anything because of the sheer shock of the comment. I can't believe anyone would even say that.
