How I Survived 11 Days at WDW with a Disney-Resistant Husband **2/20 THE END **

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your loss! My prayers will be with you and your family!

I just began reading your report. Or rather, the pages leading up to it. I am gobsmacked by the birthday party you put together for your daughter.

So much for sheetcakes and party favors, that is one chic shindig! I would love to be able to put something like that together for my niece someday. I can only imagine the required preparation.

Wow and wow!

Edit: After I replied, I read the last few posts. My thoughts are with your family, I'm sorry for your loss.

Hi! Started browsing through your TR and ended up reading all 38 pages in one sitting!

First of all, very sorry for your loss. Hugs to your family.

Secondly, happy Canada Day!!! (although 1 day late...). I too am from North of the Border! Maybe we will meet at Disney one day!

Last but not least, I couldn't help but half laugh and half cringe when you described your trek through Epcot to the BC!!! The funny part is that I could imagine myself there but with roles somewhat reversed... My DD is now 13 and she is the one making me walk in the heat and I am the one begging for a break and getting cranky!!! :rotfl2: Too bad she can't carry me... We went in August once (last year) and I didn't think I was going to survive it! Especially with DD who is a big fan of doing as much as possible. She wanted to be in MK from 9am rope drop to midnight in August! By noon I had to seriously bribe her to leave and come back later at night. Cost me a pretty penny in pins but manage to escape to waterpark and survived through the day! :rotfl:

Hope your family is well and I will keep reading!

So Sorry for your loss. I am sure it was a devastating blow and your family is in my thoughts and prayers!

Hi Trish,
First of all I want to say I am so sorry for you loss.

I have to comment as other posters have said, you really should consider going into party planning. Your DS bday party looked wonderful. The activities and the decorations were amazing. Whoever does your cakes does a wonderful job as well. Both your DD's cake and the pirate ship were terrific. I am impressed. Do they taste as good as they look?
My bday is in Aug...I would love a party :rotfl2:.

Back to the TR... I am so happy you all got to ride EE. I LOVE that rollercoaster. A couple of years ago we were at WDW in Sept...we had gotten to EE first thing and my kids rode it back to back. We had to get off but basically we got right back on...after about 4 times I was not feeling so well due to the backwards part but my kids would ride it all day if they could.

You taught me something I never knew :thumbsup2...In all my trips to WDW I have never seen the Fab 5 on a raft. I will most definitely keep my eye out next trip. Thanks for the tip...

I think your photopass pics are lovely. :goodvibes You have a beautiful family.

I hope your weekend goes well...you are in my prayers. :flower3:

Hello :goodvibes I am so sorry that I totally missed the birthday post! I have been at the beach and working the DIS on my cell phone. WONDERFUL job as usual. What a fantastic pirate party! I just loved it.

Your family looked great in your PP pics!!

Last, I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying for you and your family during this time

Day 3 and off to Animal Kingdom!

I mentioned that we are Rope Drop people, right? Well in addition to that, I am also quite keen on the 8am breakfasts that get you early entrance into the Parks. Today we had an 8am ADR at Tusker House, which meant that we had to be out the door by 7:30am at the latest.

The food at Tusker House was excellent! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Even the coffee was pretty decent. We also lucked out with a fabulous server. Once again, life was good!

Unfortunately, the thing that didn't work out so well were the character table visits. After 45 minutes of waiting at our table for the characters, finally it appeared that they were coming in our direction.

We were seated in a room at the back end of the restaurant. Our server had informed us that our table would be the characters' first stop on entering the back room. Which only made it worse when we watched Mickey come into the back room, bypass our table and start making his way around to all of the other tables in the room.

First he went down the left side, crossed over to the back wall, and then started coming back up the right wall in our direction. Just as he had almost reached our table, he slipped into an adjoining room containing about 5 more tables. Grrrrrrrrr.

To make matters worse, it was now between 9:15-9:20am and I had been watching a steady stream of people converging on the Kilimanjaro Safaris since park opening. Ugh!

Sorry for your loss.

On a different note, you sound like me....but chin up, my DH has finally come around and I have turned him into a Disney lover. We bought DVC quite a while ago...before children....and he has come to appreciate all that Disney has to offer.

I am reading this thinking of the last time we ate at Tusker house...same routine with the characters and the other thing was they stood with their back to the window, so none of the pictures came out that great!!!

Kelly

Thank you all so much! It really means a lot!!!

Blessings to your family, I just spent the last 2 hours catching up on your trip report and am saddened to get to the end and hear about your loss.

I have completely enjoyed the journey so far, I understand the 'resister', I have a semi-resister - sometimes-converted - but not like me (Disney crazy). Looking forward to reading more as you post.:flower3:

Thank you so much!

That is a clever way to phrase it - semi-resister - sometimes-converted. I would say overall I have a 80% resister, 20% converted guy myself. If he falls more in love with Disney in future, I will be thrilled. But I am not going to count on it - less disappointment that way!;)

Was just about to comment and tell you how much I'm enjoying your trip report and saw your latest post -- I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers to your family!

Thank you so much for posting and welcome!:welcome:

Welcome!!!:welcome: So glad you have joined!

Happy belated Canada Day yourself!:)

That is too funny about you and your daughter and the role reversal on who is the more hard-core Park goer! Hmmmm...maybe that will happen in my future too!

Thanks so much Darlene!:goodvibes

I do love my Party planning! I have one more party event to plan coming up this Summer, and then I think we are on break until Halloween. (I plan on having both an Adult Halloween Costume Dance Party as well as an afternoon costume party for the kiddos and their friends).

And yes - the wonderful baker who does my cakes never fails to disappoint!;)

You will have to keep your eyes peeled for the raft/boat with the Fab 5 on it. The only place I have ever seen it is when we have been seated at the waterfront tables at Flame Tree. It goes by quickly, but it is a nice little experience. I will see if I can post one of my videos of it from a past trip!

I think your PP pics turned out great, especialy the second shot. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Hugs to you and your family.:grouphug:

No worries at all....these threads can be hard to keep up with can't they? :faint:

But I must say - I am very jealous of you following along with the Dis at the beach on your phone!:cloud9:

Thanks for your comments and prayers!:)

Thank you so much for posting, and I am so glad to hear that your husband finally came around!:goodvibes

(And thanks as well for reminding me that sometimes those character photos that we missed out on are sometimes not the greatest!;) I LOVE the shots we got with the kids prancing around the restaurant with Mickey in the musical parade - so all was not losted at this meal!:goodvibes)
