How I Survived 11 Days at WDW with a Disney-Resistant Husband **2/20 THE END **

I'm glad that they waived the fee for BBB! I'm sure also they had no problem filling the appointment so I doubt Disney was out any money anyway so it was the right thing to do.

The last time I went to the Tiki Room was with my Godson years back. I may have to make time for it this year. And I do remember Pirates last December having a very short ride which kind of surprised me. I am really enjoying the reports, it's making me look forward to my trip even more!

Hey Stephanie...how are things with you? You are getting awfully close to your trip! Sadly, I have not been able to keep up with everyone's TRs and PTRs as long as I want to keep updating my own report on a fairly regular basis. So once I finish this, I will have a lot of catching up to do!)

I am always playing catch up too!! :goodvibes Our trip will be here before we know it!! We leave in 11 days!!

Great update!! I admire your willingness to alter plans to accommodate your family's needs. :thumbsup2

Awww...I love the pics of Chris and his "many faces!" Your kids look like they were lovin' that!

I'm in total agreement with you on Pirates...don't get me wrong, I love the WDW version, but I give the ride at DL an edge! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about your experience at the Plaza...

I just found you TR and absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing your memories.

DH and I are also from Canada! Although from over in the West (SK) and we are off to WDW in December for an Xmas family trip and reading your report is getting me more and more excited!

What a beautiful family you have - thanks for all the updates :)

P.S. Loved your Daughter's Parisian B-day party! I might have to steal that for the theme of my next party ;)

So many teases... can't wait to hear about Plaza and your afternoon at the pool. Good call to just relax at the resort and hurrah for having the cancelation fee waived!!

The Disneyland Pirates is pretty awesome, isn't it? I think I like their Tiki Room better too. Although now that I think about it I'm not sure what I'm basing that on as I don't think I've been in the one in FL for at least 20 years.

On a "real life" note, how awesome of Chris to stock the freezer for you on his day off!! :goodvibes

It was definitely a wise decision to cancel BBB...otherwise I would not have caught the spectacle at SAB that afternoon!;)

And yes, what a load Chris took off my plate in stocking up the freezer. I got a fair bit accomplished this weekend too, considering how little of it we actually spent at home! It felt like Florida here this weekend. We have been absolutely spoiled this year with the hot sunny weather all summer long!:)

I love the pictures of your family waiting for the Tiki Birds show! They all look so happy together!:) Probably a good decision to cancel your BBB and enjoy SAB for the afternoon. When it's that hot everyone eventually gets cranky and the best place to be is by a pool for sure!:thumbsup2 Looking forward to more.;)

You are absolutely right....while we likely missed the last opportunity for Katie to ever do the BBB again (she is quickly growing out of the princess stage:sad2:), it was the right call. The pool was too enticing that afternoon!

The pictures of you in line for Tiki Room are precious, sure to go down as a great memory from your trip. There was some pixie dust there for sure. And I love it when those 'lighter' moments balance out the more 'challenging' ones with the resisters! Can't wait to hear about Plaza, we had a great meal:) there one time, but have opted for other ressies and haven't been back yet.

The time at the Tiki Birds really were some great family moments. And I should have more up about our meal at the Plaza by tomorrow.;)

Definitely take in a show of the Tiki Birds. Great fun! Hope you are enjoying the countdown to your trip!

Yes, we were all having a chuckle at the preshow for the Tiki Room. The kids got a real kick out of Chris doing his self-imitations.

Pirates will never be the same for me in WDW now that I know how it is "supposed" to be after riding the DL version.:sad2:

I should have an update with our Plaza meal up by tomorrow!;)

Thanks for posting, and Welcome!:welcome: (From one Canuck to another!;))

Steal away with the Paris theme...we really enjoyed it! There is so much you can do with it!

Have fun counting down to your December trip...I still have yet to visit WDW during the holidays. I can't wait until I get down there one year for the holidays!:goodvibes

And congrats on completing your JD! Are you articling now?

OK Internet...you are going to think I am absolutely crazy on this one.

If you are not an absolute hard-core Disney fan, please just skip to my next update, ok?

OK - so we have just the really hard-core Disney fans left, right? Cause I would never admit this in the company of "regular folk".

As hard core fans, we can all agree that Disney has smells, right? Those identifying smells that are specific to an attraction, a resort or an area of the Parks?

Well, the past couple of days, the minute I stepped into our house after work, I was smelling Disney. I couldn't place exactly what Park, resort, or attraction it was, but I knew it was a specific smell that I associated quite plainly with Disney.

In addition to not being able to recognize where in WDW the smell was from, I also could not figure out exactly what in our house was causing this smell.

But it was all good. I loved being reminded of Disney upon stepping in my front door.

After racking my brains, I finally figured out what Disney smell it was. It was the Beach Club!!! If you spend any time there, you will know that the lobby has a very distinct odor (all good), and we also smelled this same smell in our room at the BCV. When we checked in on Saturday, the smell was fairly strong, but by mid-week it had dissipated. Then, after our weekly mousekeeping on Wednesday, the smell was back full-force. So I knew it was something Disney was adding either intentionally or unintentionally through cleaning products, ect.

So now I finally figured out what the Disney smell was, but I still had no idea where it was coming from in our home. So I asked Chris. Finally he sheepishly admitted to spraying Febreze in the entranceway where the kids soccor gear and wetsuits from kayaking were being stored. He knows full well that I *hate* products like this as I am not a fan of using any more chemicals in our home than absolutely necessary. However, once he chose the "Disney Beach Club in a bottle" scent, I was all for this particular product. :rotfl: And he has been given carte blanche to spray away all he wants!

The scent in case you are wondering is "Lavendar vanilla and comfort". So if you are a Beach Club fan, try it out and tell me if I am wrong!;)

OMG! I'm totally going to have to check that out. :lmao: Especially since we just stayed at BCV....
I'm finally caught up on your trip!

Amanda

We hope to stay at the Beach Club next Oct-I will have to get some before then! I  those smilely pics of ur Hubby

I will definitely have to get that scent! My DS23 is a fanatic about Febreeze so I will have to see if he has seen that scent (or maybe he has it - I try to stay away from his room or DS17 :rotfl2:)

Thanks for posting, and Welcome!:welcome: (From one Canuck to another!;))

And congrats on completing your JD! Are you articling now?

Yup I sure am articling!!! I didn't think it would be possible to go to Disney during my Articling year but my firm is amazing and they figure I'll deserve a break by December!!!

We were really hoping to try WL this time, but it was completely booked. Maybe in a few years we'll have a bit of a bigger budget and can try the BC or YC - I'd love to be that close to EPCOT and your pictures are beautiful!

:lmao: with the febreze! how funny is that!!
I LOVED those pictures of Chris and the kids waiting for Tiki Room.. we all know he is a good guy.. :thumbsup2 and KUDOS on making the stew and sauce for you! what a great guy! I know how crazy it gets once school starts!!

As always loving your report!

Oh have you tried the purple bottle of Snuggle? It is lavender/sandalwood. Might be similar, and it comes in dryer sheets too! Imagine if you could walk around in clothes, and sleep in sheets, and towel off with towels that smell like Beach Club!

The "Four Parks, One World" CD gets frequent airtime in our car. And whenever there is a fight between Katie and Declan as to what song they want to hear, Katie is always wanting "Golden Dream" from the American Adventure and Declan is pushing for the Tiki Room.

Katie has excellent taste in music! Golden Dream is my favorite Disney song - it's so poignant. I'm impressed that someone as young as Katie would appreciate it.

I love that Beach Club smell! I can't believe you found it in a Febreze bottle! I'm going to look for that when I'm at the store later today:goodvibes

Finally all caught up!! Loved the family photos- especially the ones of the kids jumping up and down- so adorable!!!

Interesting about that Febreeze scent- I used to use that alot, but stopped because my cleaning service (I use a Green cleaning service) told me Febreeze has formaldahyde, or something like that, that would not be a good chemical for Sean (because of his autism). But I may have to say too bad and spray away if I can feel like I'm livin' at BCv!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

guess i'm going to buy febreeze and snuggle today :woohoo: .. could use a little disney in my day!!!

btw .. absolutely love all your pictures! and your husband sounds a lot like mine. mine may not be perfect (lord knows i'm not perfect either), but he's perfect for me. it's good to have 2 people who compliment each other so well. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Definitely with you on the smells. My DD1's suncream reminds me of her first holiday to disney world at 11 weeks old (yes we were mad with a 9 hour flight each way!!! ;)). I've loved putting it on her this summer when the weather has been good enough and remembering that holiday :)
