well i had all kinds of plans for the day, until........
a couple of weeks ago i went into a gift shop that was closing and i bought 2 bookcases for $40.00 a piece and she called today and said she was almost closed & i should come get them today.
WELL......
dh and bil went to get them for me and i tore my sons room apart from top to bottom and re-organized it so it does not look like a bomb went off anymore and 7 hours later it looks great!!!!!
i can not believe the crap that kid has. really. games galore, puzzles a plenty, books, books and more books......OMG. i just kept moving and moving things until i got it the way i wanted it. not really how i wanted to spend my day, but at least it's done now for a little while. i have even given him the SPEECH!!! (like if you mess- you in big t-r-o-u-b-l-e MR.) now the weekends over and i officially have ONE clean room in my house!!!!!

Hey, one room is a great start!

So, show us the bookcases. Please.:flower3:

Yay for you! its a great feeling isn't it!:goodvibes

I also did some organizing last week in DD room.......we changed everything around, painted, new shelves, etc for her 8th b-day.......after spending 4 days getting it all done I told her she better really love it because I'm not re-doing her room for 5 years!

I bet it feels great! And I agree with AWM, pictures please! I did a little of that in DS's room, trying to make his room a little more big boy since he will be 3 in a few weeks.

i'll try to take pics tomorrow after work and post after supper.
thats if it stays clean long enough!!!!!!

Ahh, to have one room organized.

Can't wait to see the pics. :)

It sounds like a great way to spend the weekend, even if it wasn't the actual plan. I'd also love to see pictures.....maybe it will inspire me to get on the girls about their rooms:).

here are some pics....

and MY all time favorite thing in his room- dh says it's time to take it down, it's too "babyish" for him, but its the shadow box of the outfit they put on him right after they weighed him, with our bracelets and name tag. i just love it so much i cant take it down....

and then you go from the baby to the little boy at the easter egg hunt..
(just thought i'd throw this one in)

now keep in mind, he still has stuff everywhere in rubbermaid bins that our in front of the shelves and on the sides of the shelves and so it's not completely clean but it's a start and i still need to go through the books and do something with the baby ones, but for now they are all off the floor, which was my objective.
tell me what you think......

sorry about the ones that are sideways, i tried to flip them but for some reason it kept going back to the original way. i saved it, but yet it's still the wrong way. oh well, you get the idea!

They are all right side up for me! It looks great- wanna come to my house?
