How high do you think gas prices will go?

It's anywhere from $3.30-$3.45 for regulate here in NJ from what I've ben seeing. No question it will hit $4 by the end of the year unfortunately.

No wonder Tesla is valued at a trillion dollars. The writing is the on the wall. More and more drivers will be moving to electric vehicles so they don't have to worry about the price of gas.

I’m in the Toronto area.. i gassed up today at $1.47 point 9 a litre.. there are 3.79 liters in a gallon.. so the price per gallon here today averaged $5.61 CDN or $4.53 US at today’s exchange rate.

Our gas price watchdog says to expect the price to continue to go up over the next week or two.
$4.49 here
It's about the same price in the major Alberta cities as it is in Ontario. Today BC is at $1.69/l. Newfoundland is $1.63/l. Not sure why gas is so inexpensive in Manitoba; $1.33/l on the chart I googled.

I'm in GA and we are paying $3.19 to $3.34. Spoke to my friend a couple of months ago and she's paying well over $5, must be higher by now.

In the $3.30 range in northern Delaware. 15 cents off per gallon at my company’s stores until tomorrow. 10 cents off per gallon indefinitely at a competitor’s stations. You need to sign up for the rewards app at both.

I never understood those lines “out on the road” at Costco or similar, even if the gas is 20 cents cheaper per gallon. Is it really worth 20 minutes of your time to save $3.12?

The lines at our Costco are usually only bad on the weekends. People need that $3.12 so they can run over to Starbucks and buy a $6 coffee milkshake.

But you have to charge them, right? The cost of electric will also be skyrocketing, depending on your state, so it's lose/lose no matter your car type...

As for how high it will go, there will be a strong desire to keep the national average price under $5 b/c that is a very psychological number...so if it gets close, I'd expect some gas tax holidays or something similar to keep that price from breaching the $5 barrier.

That said, $4 for the national average is probably a gimme by Christmas...

Here in KY, the prices have gone down some. It was up to about $3.25 a week or so ago, but most places are about $3.10 now and I saw it was $2.98 at Sam's Club.

Looks like the cheapest right around my house is about $3.05-3.06. According to gas buddy there is an outlier at $2.94 (probably hasn't recently had gas trucks refill it it my guess). The Costco closest to me is $2.99.

It's possible it will go over $4.00 like it did when I was in college

We are paying 3.54 at the BJs by us. What shocks me is the gas doesn't go up a penny or two every few weeks, it's been 3-5 cents twice a week this past month.

I have a Tesla Y…. And it’s not even close. I’d be spending about $400+ a month on gas with my old car. Our electric bill has gone up $75 a month since we got the Y Even if our electric bill goes up by 50% this winter….it’s still only going cost about $112 or so. It’s an absolute game changer…. Not only from a fuel perspective….but for convenience.

Also… if anyone is interested in going for an EV….keep an eye on the bill going through Congress. If it passes in current form you can qualifly for a tax credit of up to $12,500…. Depending on the car you buy…etc. A lot of Americans are going to take that offer.

Along the same lines, we just had our gas propane fireplace filled. It only needed 11 gallons but it was $7.50 a gallon. Cost $83 for 11 gallons. Hoping it’s a warm sunny winter.

Won't most people be going to solar and generating their own power? Even in Seattle which is the worst place in the lower 48 states for solar I see many people installing panels on their roof.
