We have this issue. It’s my children and me and I’m the snorer. Well truthfully we all snore, but my dd (now 11) says I keep her awake. My son (age 4) can and has always been able to sleep right next to me no problem. It’s only an issue when we go to Disney because everywhere else we go I get a suite. Even if there is no door, the space between where she sleeps and where I sleep is enough.
Like others have said, sometimes you’re so tired, you don’t hear each other. And as Maxiesmom stated, it is no fun for the snorer. My daughter can sleep fine as long as she goes to sleep before me. Trouble is only when she tries to stay up and watch TV and I’m dog tired, which as others have stated likely makes the snoring worse. Then she wakes me up literally crying she can’t sleep. Sometimes I have to remind her to go to sleep as I’m literally about to pass out.
I’m debating this for our next trip. Going to try August for various reasons and I have found August has rates lower than any other time we have gone. Also with the military discount I’m thinking I could splurge and get the cheapest rooms at either the Contemporary or even the Poly, both places I never expected we would ever stay. With the heat of August I’d love to be on the monorail and have that ease of going back and forth because out of 8 days, we do at least 3 days at MK and if you add in 1 day at Epcot that is half our trip. However, because of this issue I’m also thinking we could do the family suite at All-Star Music or Art of Animation and be separated at bedtime. We’ve always stayed at Values anyway. Only 1 BR I think I could swing would be at Wilderness Lodge. Like you not interested in OKW or S Springs.
I see you said the 1Br villas are booked. Since your children are quite young, have you looked into a family suite at Art of Animation? I know a far cry from the GF, but not only separate sleeping space but 2 bathrooms. I hope things work out whatever you decide.
