How has the resale market changed?

Not only is there more risk for the renter, it's just not a very well-known option. Sure, it seems like it's as common as anything here on DISboards, but this is a very very small slice of the overall tourism market at WDW. As the number of Members increases, the number of Members looking to rent out points also increases. Unless the market for those points *also* is increasing, it's hard to maintain any price discipline.

What's more, we've seen the effect of changes in supply/demand already---for the brief period where you had to have 50 substantive, recent DISboard posts to participate in the Rent/Trade board, rental traffic dried up, and prices rose. Now that the doors are open again, prices have dropped back down.

I'm glad I purchased resale. I look at the purchase price of the points as money "gone" never to be thought of again. My only concern now is maintenance fees and when we are scheduling our next vacation. Of course...I Need more points. LOL
