We would like to plan to go in 2013!! Thoughts??

We just booked for Feb 2012 ( 6 monthe out) with no problem for a 2 bedroom :cool1: Hope you get what you want too :)

We booked on the exact 7-month mark for December of this year and they had a one bedroom available for a week, which is what we wanted. Seems like most people have been successful getting a reservation 7 months out, based on what I've read here on the boards. The high airfare is probably a factor that is restricting a good amount of prospective vacationers from going...but for a 2013 trip circumstances may change by then...good luck either way :)

We are hoping to book at 7 months in December for next June. I know so far people seem to have been having good luck, but only time will tell. I will be checking the boards for more of these reports after the resorts open.

So far it's been easy and available. I am assuming it will get easier since they are building and opening up Villas/rooms in phases. By 2013 it should be wide open.

We had a friend book us 11 months out for Labor Day wknd but problems came up with that, DVC screwed up but they gave us an equivalent reservations. I booked 7 months out for MLK wknd in Jan & Pres wknd in Feb. Yes, airfare is a factor for those not living here. You can always book and cancel with no penalty as long as you are within 31 days(?) I think.

Good Luck!

I expect that availability shouldn't be a problem. Once the resort is finished and additional DVC units are declared, I expect supply to out pace demand, especially once the new factor has passed. There always seems to availability at other resorts on the islands and I expect Disney to be the same.

Owners there will be on board for 11 months out for 2013 but in part it depends on the rates of sales. Busier times are likely to be difficult but not impossible and slower times will likely not be difficult at all. Higher views will be tough anytime. HI is a lot more seasonal than many realize. Xmas to Easter and school holidays will be the busiest overall with Jan being easier than mosts and early June, Late August being much easier as well.

I would think that for a new resort, that had not sold the majority of the units yet, that not many people will have the 11 month home booking advantage. That makes me think that your odds of getting something at the 7 month mark would be good.

You need to balance this with the fact that it is a new resort, and with that comes the enticement for many others to want to visit. You should have the same chance as most everyone else. Just make sure to book it at 9 am at the 7 month mark and you should be good. I'm jealous! I want to go check it out too.

They declare inventory in segments called phases. ONLY declared units (a unit is usually multiple villas) are eligible to be reserved by members. They can't sell a phase until it's declared so as long as they are still declaring new units, new inventory will come on board. That means there should always be a little more inventory available than there are members, but not a lot. It's not like the entire villa side is open for reservations for day 1 or even when that segment is completed.

We booked a one bedroom for November at the 7 month window with no problems.
