How hard to walk in to Le Cellier in Aug.?

Not very likely, but still try it, you never know. But, I would still make a plan B and book something else.

slim to none - that's what i think your chances are - sorry, but good luck!

Last August, as we were walking down the path to Le Cellier, a family was walking up the path and away from the restaurant. The adult female with the group said, "But they said 7:30." To which the son replied, "Yeah, but she said 7:30 in January."

Have a back up plan. IF you were a party of 2 you never know, but with a party of 5, you are looking for a table for 6.....sorry......it would take alot of pixie dust for that one.

Aug. 3 is before free dining- BUT I don't know that that will help at all. I agree with OP who said to go right at opening (11?) I would also suggest to keep calling! You could also check the cancellation thread for Aug.

GOOD LUCK!!:goodvibes

I have to agree with the naysayers.
We have eaten there twice with ADR's during very LOWWW crowd times and even then they would not take any walk ups.

Our last trip, the second week of Jan, the parks were very empty and almost no lines at any rides all week, but I think everyone that was there had ADR's.
They were taking no walk ups at La Cellier or Spoodles and Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys both at 1 1/2 hour waits for walk ups.

I do not think that there is any time that I would chance going without ADR's.
I say make an ADR somewhere else, then keep trying at La Cell. You may have that one in a million luck and get one, but no way I would even think about it without one.

I do know some that have lucked out with an ADR at a booked place by getting the Hotel Guest services to call on the day you want one.

Otherwise, wait until next trip and call La Cell first at your 180+10

KEEP CALLING BACK!!!

I booked ADRs for my NYE trip, and Le Cellier was BOOKED! But, I kept calling back, and guess what. SOMETHING OPENED UP! Perservearence, my dear. ;)

I called 180 days out at 7 am for a value season date, and got the LAST reservation available! :O!! when we went in Sept my mom tried to do a walk in with no luck. I'd try Yachtsman instead if you're looking for good steak in the EPCOT area, that was my backup if I didn't get Le Cellier.

Plus I'm sure the portions are prob A LOT bigger there! LC is one of those "pay 30 dollars for a dot of food on your plate" type of places unfortunately.

Your best bet is to keep calling and pray something opens up. They will not take walk ins. Heres some pixie dust :tinker: you are going to need it.

Call the Disney Dining number :listen: the night before you want to go..if they still do not have an ADR call the day of in the morning then around noon.

When we went last November I wanted to eat at Tony's for dinner the night we were in the MK for the day. I tried several times and nothing! I called the night before from the Poly..nothing...around 1:00pm the day I wanted the ADR for 5...2 adults and 3 kiddies...I called again..WELL, not only did they have an opening for dinner but I had a choice of times!!:) You never know!

I think that is the key, flexibilty. Keep trying for an ADR, but have a plan B.

B&C is right out the International Gateway at the BC. They do not take ADRs so you can walk in.

Good luck!

OP: Be sure to check with your concierge the minute you check into your resort. There are often last minute cancellations and/or tables set aside for resort guests need dining.

Friend of ours went during free dining and were newbies and really didn't know much about ADR's. When they arrived at their resort the CM asked them if he could make any reservations for them. He was able to book Coral Reef, Prime Time Cafe, Alfredo's and Akershus (sp?) right then.

Best advice so far is to keep calling before you leave. Cancellations do happen but definitely have plan B. We have tried getting Le Cellier reservations as walk-ups and by calling the past 3 years. No way on the walk up situation. The two years prior to last year couldn't even get a call in reservation. Finally, by calling early enough, last year we were able to book ADR there for the last night of our trip.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

I have all my ADR's except Le Cellier. UGh! I am going to try to walk in with my family of 5 ( 3 kids) on Aug. 3. How hard do you think this will be? Thanks for the help.

I'm going to try to. I heard you just by pure luck. So good Luck!

If you're going to be in Epcot anyway, you can try getting there before they open (11 am? 11:30 am?) or coming back around 2:30ish in the afternoon. At least that's when they told us when we were there last year.

Keep in mind it isn't just one cancellation you're waiting for--the restaurant overbooks by 30% to cover no-shows (that's another tidbit from the CM's).

I'd make another ADR in Epcot for an hour or so after LC opens, and try walking up at opening. But don't pin your hopes on it.

I would suggest Beaches and Cream as your back up, if you aren't willing to make a back up TS ADR. They don't take ADRS. I hope you are planning on being at Epcot anyway and not making a special trip for Le Cellier. Otherwise, find a CS that looks yummy. Oh, or Marrakesh often takes walk up.

It doesn't hurt to keep calling, but I called at 7:30 a.m. at our 180 day mark and our table of 5 had exactly ONE option: 8:00 p.m. and we had to book two separate tables. DH and I might well be separating with the kids and eating at different tables. Le Cellier has very few tables for larger groups nor the space to do a lot maneuvering.

Last year during free dining the ONLY Le Cellier res we could get was at 11:30 am (opening) for lunch, on 1 specific day. So we took it. We arrived about 20 minutes early, were told to come back about 11:25 - we did - and we saw about 5 parties turned away. They were told LC was completely booked for the rest of the day. We noticed that the restaurant was booked solid while we ate there - we got seating promptly and there were no empty tables when we left, other than the one we had just vacated!

I wish you luck, but having tried this myself in other years, I'd get a backup plan determined pretty soon.

I have walked in to Ariels Grotto and Goofys Kitchen at Disneyland right when they opened many times. My plan was to be there when they opened and see if I have a shot. (For dinner) Dh and I will be back in Oct. for the F&WF, so we will get to eat there again, but I want my kids to have a chance to eat there.
PS. When I went in Jan. , the concierge told me there were no ADR's available and I walked right in.
If we get in, we get in . If not we are going to Beaches & Cream.
