How hard is it to get DVC 7 months out?

Early August is getting a little tougher for us but usually not a problem at 7 months so you should be fine-for now. Actually for the first time we are planning BCV at 11 months for the first week of August next week for next summer-we usually wait until about 8 months. I will say NOT owning at OKW or SSR has NEVER been an issue for those weeks (and almost all others) as they have always been available even a month out so its certainly not necessary to own the 11 month priority there. If you need Grand Villas-thats another story-go with OKW. Good Luck.

We just got back from Disney yesterday and the 7 months has never been an issue for me. I did call everyday for 2 weeks though just to make sure. Thats what they recommended that I do just to make sure that I got the resort that I wanted. I do know that we tried to switch at about 5 months and they were totally booked. We also tried to switch when we were down there and everything was booked then too so make sure it is really where you want to spend all of your time.

I made a res at my home resort 11 months out for 9 nights in early march as soon as the 7 month window came along I tried to switch over to BWV but there were only preferred views left. We were able to reserve the BCV studio. I am more then happy with that! I would like standard view at BWV some trips to save points.

I have been a member since 1997, and just recently experienced not being able to get a room anywhere for a long weekend for my college-age nephew, which was to be a birthday gift. Of course, it was during spring break time, so that may have had something to do with it.

Other than that, we have booked as soon as 3 weeks away from travel date, and gotten a room. Now, you may not be able to be too fussy about where you stay....you may not get exactly the location you had always hoped for if you are booking within the 7 motnh window, but generally there is some availability somewhere if you are flexible. OKW pretty much always has availability, as they are one of the bigger resorts. It's our hoem resort, so I may be biased toward it, but it is a lovely place to stay.
