How hard is it to get BCV during the summer if it isn't your home resort?

We will be buying DVC very soon and we keep going back and forth between BW and BC. I am wondering if we go with BWV... if we want to stay at BCV during the summer will we have much trouble?

Has anyone had trouble getting into BC when it isn't their home resort?

We were just able to book 2 1bdrm in July at the 7 month window. Since we are new to DVC I am not sure what the norm is.

We were able to get BCV at 7 months for a 2BR in early June 2007. I called 7 months from check-out date and got what I wanted except that I had hoped for the dedicated 2BR w/2Queens in the 2nd bedroom and had to take the other configuration. We were very happy that we got it without having to waitlist.

My experience is that summer at BCV is not as difficult to get as some might think. Now that doesn't mean it's wide open on short notice (with 3/4 months to go) it just means if you call at 7 months and are somewhat flexible with dates, I'm guessing your chances are greater than 50% that you will get in. With DVC, as long as you can plan 7 months out, you will almost always get what you need. It will get harder to book as you get closer to your need date but not impossible. I've had to waitlist few times but I'm still batting 1.000

We were able to get a 1 bdrm. at 7 months out for one night at BCV in July 2007. We just needed one night before our cruise, so I don't know if additional nights were available or not.

We had no problem getting a studio at BCV at the 7 month window for 3 nights the end of June 2007.

So far I've had no problem reserving at the 7th month window at BCV.
Last year I reserved a 2 BR for the last week in June and this year I reserved a 2BR in July for a week.

Just got BCV studio for July 28-Aug. 4.

DH just finished the day-by-day phone calls yesterday!!

BCV is not our home resort. We had to wait until the 7 month mark.
We had no problem getting a studio for 8 days last summer either.

No prob last year getting BCV in August at the last minute. However, I must say I understand why - the heat! But better hot at Disney than hot somewhere else
