My first question in my two year planning process!
My DH and I are going to do DLRP for our 20th anniversary in May 2008.

one of the things that keep us happily married is a king size bed :)

Right now I am leaning toward the NY hotel.

Hi Judy,

It is absoultely not hard to get a King size bed. If I am not mistaken as long as you only book a room for 2, you will get a king size bed by default, but best double check at booking time ! ;)
I went to Disney in May this year to celebrate my wife's 40th :cheer2: and stayed in a double room in the NY with view on the lake. The room had 1 king size bed, table and sofa. Just perfect for a romantic room service breakfast with view over lake Disney sipping champagne !

Next Visit to Disney at NBC in 3 weeks !!

I'm sure a few of the resident HNY squad will chip in regarding their experiences :)

Ooh me, me!! :hyper:

The NHY definitely has one room with a king size bed, because I've seen it!! :teeth: Very nice hotel - anything you want to know about the place, please ask. :)

We are in the same boat - having a king size at home means you really struggle having to go back to a regular double!

My advice is to make sure you ask when you check in at reception. I would disagree with the comment above that a king-size is the default for a couple.

This year we had requested "one large bed" rather than two doubles when we booked, but at check-in we were told that we'd been allocated a standard (two beds) room. However, because we asked nicely(!), they searched around on the system and did manage to find us a room with a king-size bed. The room wasn't actually ready (our originally allocated room was), but they did take our bags and said to come back to reception an hour later and they'd give us the key. In my opinion, it was well worth the wait!

That was at the Hotel New York; however by asking, we've managed to score king-size bed rooms at the Disneyland Hotel and the Sequoia Lodge as well.

thanks ! I do love to plan.....and all ready after actually finding a "rate" page, I am now leaning toward Newport Beach :)
