Read some about this restaurant, how great is the food here? Looking to celebrate a birthday, would you recommend this place and why? Please share any photos, if available :thumbsup2

Thanks a bunch ;)

Best meal that I've had in my entire life & I am not exaggerating! I will definitely return there on every trip we take to WDW.

What did you eat? Is it good for little ones as well?

Thanks a bunch :thumbsup2

Its fabulous. I got chicken w/ mushroom bread (stuffing).

Here's the childrens menu. I brought 2 kids with me, 12 and 9. I wouldnt suggest for kids under 5. Restaurant is quiet and if your child is tired/cranky..everyone notices!!

DH & I both had the crab cakes, surf & turf, and almond crusted cheesecake for dessert. We dined at 5:30 & it was a lot noisier than I expected it to be. I think kids are fine as long as you go at an earlier time. We didn't take DD8 with us (my sis came along & they went to CMs.) However, after the meal I felt really guilty that we'd had something that good & they missed out!

Glad to read your good review! We are trying this restaurant for the first time on our next trip. DD's fiance wanted a place with good seafood. :thumbsup2

Amazing food and even better service! Truly worthwhile- and truly high end, even for a non-DW place. (as in the restaurant, service, menu and wine list would qualify as high end, even in a large city like Chicago).

Our family of 7 had a bill that was very high, it reached the 4 figures if I remember correctly and it was worth every penny. Granted a lot of it was wine...and then there was the appetizers, the salads, the main meals, the desserts....ahhhh.....

We also watched WISHES from the balcony, they pipe in the music, and I cried. I will ALWAYS remember it as one of those truly magical moments in my life. I would venture to say it's in the top 10 'best days/experiences' of my life. Perhaps it was the day, perhaps it was DW, perhaps I was remembering simpler times from years past, but it was truly an amazing way to end an amazing day.

We enjoyed it alot, good service & great food.

Its pretty noisey for such a small restaurant but that wasnt a big deal we defintely will go again and again.

We ate there two weeks ago, and it was great!! We had a 7:00pm ADR and it was a bit noisy even at that time. The food was superb along with the service. This will be one place we'll come back to.

we love narcoosees!

crabcakes, whole lobster, almond crusted cheesecake - heaven! :cloud9:

Okay, it sounds wonderful, I just hope I can still get ADR for it. If I let them know we are celebrating a birthday can they arrange for anything special? Do I ask through reservations or call the restaurant directly?

Thanks for all your responses :thumbsup2

It was amazing. I saw quite a few little ones most were well behaved. I guess the key is too make sure they are rested which is quite hard in Disney isn't it?:rotfl:

Anyway I reviewed it in my dining reviews. The link is below.

Book your ADR, then call the restaurant directly and ask them to make a special menu for you. it's a menu that has your names and pictures of the 2 of you. You work with someone to send them the pictures. (if you want examples, look for posts that say "coral reef diver", as this is the most common restaurant for this to be done)

As an aside- you can also get a diver at the coral reef along with a special menu but that's another topic! Just do a search to find out more info.

I didn't know they could do pictures! My DH was impressed that our menu wished us a Happy Anniversary. I'll have to put pics on it when we return next year. Thanks for sharing!

We colebrated Fathers Day and my sons graduation from high school there last week, the food was amazing and they also gave us personalized menus that said Happy Fathers Day and Congratulations on your Graduation. My 11 year old is still talking about how awesome her filet was.:thumbsup2

Eating there is better than winning the lottery!

Really!

Well, no.

Not really.

But it's pretty good!

It's our current favorite restaurant on-site.

We're trying it for the first time in Nov and can't wait! We'll be bringing our DDs ages 7 & 4. My view on bringing kids is, its disney, they can go anywhere. The only restaurant I would not bring them to by my choice is Victoria & Alberts.

We love Narcoossee's. The lobster and shrimp cocktail is fantastic. DH loves the filet and always orders the surf and turf with crab cakes instead of lobster. I'm allergic to alot of their desserts so I'm not much help there. DS5 is usually really good there. Last time he fell asleep and spent the whole meal sleeping across 2 chairs. It's our favorite restaurant and a must do every trip.

We really loved it on our first visit in 2006, and I was a big cheerleader of this place.

I have to say that our next visit in 2007 was not so great. When we arrived at the host stand, there seemed to be something going on between the manager (?) and a server. The manager (it might not have been, but he seemed to be running things) was extremely dismissive of us, and then stalked off to talk to a server (and not in a pleasant tone) I'm not sure what was going on but it was not very professional at all, especially in front of guests. Our server was very odd, would disappear for long periods of time, then try and make up for it by not going away. We should have just asked him to join us at that point! Plus the food was cold.

Something was clearly going on that night, so I would be willing to give the place another go, but not for a bit. When they are on the ball it's fantastic.

I've dined there a few times and while I won't put it in my "best meal ever" lists, it's exceptional for what you'd expect at Disney. The service is always attentive, the meals delicious.

Our last trip we dined with our DD 6&7 and they are used to dining. They provided crayons and there is plenty to see. It does get a tad noisy but in a good way. It is a very open restaurant.

After dinnner last year we had a boat rented for Wishes (a nice short walk away) and it was a absolutely perfect night and truely one of our top Disney memories.

As noted if your paying OOP and are going to have wine your bill will easily be in the triple digits range for a couple.
