We have an 6:45 ADR at CP on a Friday night. The park closes @ 8:00 Assuming we get seated right at 6:45 and we don't linger, is 45 minutes enough time to eat. Was hoping to have the last half hour for one more park ride. What do you think?

The server told us when we were seated that it could take an hour for the characters to come around. We lucked out and they came up just after we were seated but if you get stuck there waiting your plan of another ride might not work.

You are assuming that A) you get seated exactly on time and B) all the characters will be around that fast,I doubt you will be out fast enough. I say a minimum of 1 1/2 hrs to dine at character meals

You can do it if you don't care that you get to see all the characters (ie when we do bfast, we will often skip one of the characters in order to get to rope drope). CP usually seems to seat about 10 minutes after your ADR (at least for breakfast this is the case) and then it does take about a good hour and 15 minutes for all the characters to make their way.

Seems like your group is focused on the rides, rather than an expensive character buffet meal. You might consider alternate plans where you are focused on the rides and eat at one of the CS restaurants, just snack or dine after the park closes at one of the monorail resorts. It sounds like an alternative plan provides you greater control over your time and getting to the rides.

I agree if you are seated on time, it would still be cutting it close. If you really want to do this meal:

Show up early and get your name in

Make the characters secondary. If the characters matter, then it will indeed take an hour minimum. If that doesn't matter, get your food, eat, enjoy characters as they get to you, ask for your check well before you are ready to leave.

If you have dining credits you are trying to use inside the MK and don't care about characters, I suggest The Plaza. Great sandwiches, soups and salads and wonderful desserts. Much quicker than a character meal or Tony's which while not a character meal is often noted for slow service. Plaza is almost always quick and you could probably snag an earlier ADR without a problem. You could also do a full lunch, have you tried CP for a lunch ADR? The lunch is also good and that way you aren't getting too close to end of day at the park. Plaza also serves lunch.

One trick we learned too, when we wanted to get out early enough to watch fireworks, is to ask for your check early in your dinner. That way you don't have to wait when you are ready to go! :thumbsup2

We were there in early December. We checked in early and still waited a good 20-30 minutes past our reservation to get in. Hopefully you wouldn't have to wait so long to get in, but yes it does take awhile for the characters to get around. I do not think you would have enough time. Personally out of all the meals we ate at the park, this was our whole family's least favorite meal.

I would go to my ADR'S early like 5:20 /5:30 to try and get seated faster. If you can do this it could possibley work.
