How fast for Westjet credit card approval?

I need to book a flight ASAP, I'm wondering if you apply for a Westjet credit card, do you get a temporary # to use right away or do you have to wait until the card arrives?

Also, if we get a basic card now and upgrade to the paid one later, would we get the bonus offer for that one?

I don't know about the upgrade but I'm pretty sure you would have to wait for your card and activate it before you can use it. It also took a month or so for the free $99 companion flight to show up on our card but I'm pretty sure we got the $250 credit as soon as we used it the first time.

Thanks! I was just wondering if it's an immediate use type, like when you do an Amazon application and they give you the account # right away to use (you don't have to wait for the physical card)...

We applied online for the card and got the immediate approval but no access to the number before the card arrived. To be fair, the number may have shown up in our online banking one or two days before the card came in the mail.
