How far out to schedule car service?

We're going in December, and I was wondering when would be the best time to schedule roundtrip car service from MCO. Unfortunately, I'm gonna try to get a good DING fare, so I may not have my flight info until less than a month before arrival. Would that be too late to reserve the service?

Also, I'm thinking of using a car service to take us to Universal for a day (the r/t rates look more attractive than cabs, with hopefully more reliable service). If they picked us up at say, the Poly, and took us to UO, when they picked us up from UO would they take us to MGM (for EMH)? And how close could they get us to the park entrance?

Thanks.

Hi,

As for part one, don't worry. We have used Tiffany many times and we usually call just a few days in advance. I know there are others here who call months in advance, and you certainly can if you like, but it's not necessary.

I scheduled ours for a month and a half out. I booked so far in advance because we are going over Spring Break. I was concerned that they would be booked up if I waited.

A towncare will take you to any of the parks and drop you off at a park or your hotel. They can't always drop you off right at the entrance but at most parks, except the Magic Kingdom, they can come pretty close.

I booked Tiffany for a return trip to the airport the day before one time (person with rental car had to leave early). Unless it's a peak time like a holiday, it's not necessary to call more than a couple weeks ahead.

I used Sunray Transportation a few weeks ago. Booked one week out, no problem. It was a spur of the moment trip and had no problems whatsoever.

When I went on my cruise last year with my nephew, we stayed at HRH. Sunray took us from there to MGM. They were able to drop us off pretty close to the front, but not directly at the bus stops. Not an awful walk at all. Very doable for two very tired people straight off a Disney ship. I think most car services are flexible and willing to transport you as you see fit. I've used Sunray several times for "odd" transfer and it's never been a problem.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reassurances, everyone. I guess I'll have plenty of time to shop around. I haven't researched SunRay yet, I'll have to check them out.

I've used Sunray 4 times in the past and will be using them for 4 more trips this year. There website is www.sunraytransportation.com

Good luck with the airfare!! I'm a little irritated with not buying mine for August & October when it was cheap!

Cheers!

Just a head's up that we booked Tiffany for last Dec 2005 about 6 months in advance, and that they WERE sold out (we travelled 12/3 to 12/10) when it got to be close to those dates -- it was a huge relief for us to have made our arrangements in advance.
