Hi all,

We're looking to have our next trip to WDW in June 2010, second week. :cool1: How far out do you typically book to get the spot you want in the Fort? We are looking at a Tuesday thru Saturday stay.

We have a pop-up, so don't need anything that would handle a big RV by any means!

Any advice is appreciated..

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that you can book 500 days in advance. We're also going the 2nd week of June 2010 and we've had our ressies for a little while now. I'm already in countdown mode! :yay:

You can book by phone 499 days out.

Not sure how busy that week in June is (others will chime in I'm sure), but since it only takes the cost of one night as a deposit for a "room only" reservation, I always book mine as soon as I possibly can.

When we wanted Thanksgiving week for this year, I booked 497 days out, after getting shut out trying to book it in January the year before. :scared:

We plan on being there at that same time as well. I guess we better book pretty soon! :)

Actually, you can book 499 days ahead of your departure date when making your ressies by phone. Online you can only book through the dates that currently have announced pricing (far less).

BTW, 499 days from June 10 was 1/27/2009!

For Christmas, Thanksgiving and Holiday weekends you need to be booking as far out as possible if you want it.

Wow!! Thanks Shan-man. I would never have known this if I hadn't been reading these boards. We are going May 2010 and I have been waiting to make my ressies on-line. But I will definitely be making a phone call instead!! Thank you ever so much.:thumbsup2

I usually book pretty far in advance, although I've been known to forget and have to scramble at the last minute ("last minute" being 4-5 months before my desired dates). We go for Thanksgiving week and the kids' spring break, so we know well in advance when we're going to go, and we also know that they are very busy times that will book quickly. My reservations are usually made between 12 and 16 months in advance. I've learned the hard way that it's a lot easier to cancel a reservation than to make one at the last minute.

Any clue as to how far in advance AAA discounts become available?

Saw my answer in another thread.

2009 AAA was released aug 3, 2008

Rule of thumb:thumbsup2 for me-book as early as you can-it's one night deposit and like all have said-especially holidays. Spring Break, Thanksgiivng, Christmas, 4th of July-fill up fast.
You can always book your dates then look for discounts and call back later with codes. It's harder to make reservations than cancel them.

I don't know about online(I never make my ressies online), but if you call reservations you can get the discount.

I usually go online and find the availability first. Once I have the dates I call CRO. If I had to play the computer game and get more days than actually needed I call a few days later and cancel those. Getting the discounts is tough. I ask for them but have rarely been given them.
