Average time is somewhere between 75 to 90mins each way. I can do it in 45 mins but it depends on traffic. Longest it has ever taken me 6 hours due to tailbacks from an accident that resulted in the highway being closed for a junction.
So do I. Problem is, there is no direct road from home to work. It's about a 6 mile drive or so. It takes me roughly 20 minutes most days from door to door.
Getting home usually takes longer, anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on traffic and if the bridge has just been up.
10-15 minutes twice a week----telecommute the rest of the time. I gave up a big house in the 'burbs because I could not take the drive anymore. No regrets here!
On a good day my commute is about an hour. 45 minutes if I have lead foot On a bad day, like when it rains and people suddenly forget how to drive, it can take up to 2 hours.
6 miles for me, 7 miles for DH. Both routes are on mainly curvy, hilly, narrow rural roads, so we can't go too fast nor bike (although the last 2 1/2 miles for DH is US hwy 50). I'd say we each spend 10-15 minutes each way on the commute.
i live between 1 and 5 minutes, depending on which parking lot i decide to park at. (five minutes for a better spot)
my campus has 3 bus lines that shuttle students across campus, and if i want to park really close, thats the longer drive, but i can park far away and ride a bus right up to my building.
About 3 seconds from my bedroom to my office (the next room over).
Unless there's traffic (my wife getting in the way) then it might take 5 or 6 seconds.
