Do you all plan your holidays?

I don't mean literally down to departure dates and so on, but a rough idea of when and where?

I am embarassed to say I think I now know my next holidays up to and including 2009

2005 -WDW Aug
2006 - WDW Oct
2007 - WDW Aug
2008 - somewhere cheaper than WDW ;) maybe New York for me & DH
2009 - West coast - including LA, San Francisco and Las Vegas

Come on guys make me feel better about this :teeth:

Well for us it's easy :)

Our DVC points cover us until 2042 ;)

Ok Karen

I am a bit like you, not only do I plan way in advance but I actually book them as early as I can, so I have plenty of time to save. So far:

2005 - August- WDW- Booked
2006- August - WDW + 7 Day Disney Cruise - Booked
2007- August - WDW
2008 - Vicki's 18th Birthday so off to Viva Las Vagas.
2009 - My 21st ;) Find Fella, Marry on Castaway Cay :bride: :rotfl:

Sue

Here is my "Fantasy" holiday wish list :)

Oct 2005 WDW (booked)
Spring 2006 New York (minus les enfants)
Oct 2006 WDW
Feb 2007 Canadian Rockies (Skiing for DH and kids, apres ski for moi :) )
Nov 2007 WDW
April 2008 West Coast USA Road Trip
2009 - Mega month long trip to Australia, NZ with stopovers at Hong Kong and Singapore

I'm having trouble planning my mini holiday to Devon next week, never mind what I'm doing in 3 years time! LOL!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

And I thought I was organised!
Oct 2005 - WDW Booked
2006 - Sking Europe and NY for my 30th with DH - to be discussed with DH & maybe baby number 2 (do I have the guts to do it?)
2007 - WDW before DS starts school :teacher:
That's it. The only reason I have thought this far is becuase I have worked out when I can visit WDW next. :sunny:

Good thread Karen!! :sunny: As long as I know DH and I will be going to WDW or DLC every summer and DD & I will be going to DLP at least once a year
( but preferably more!!!) I'm happy - but it is WONDERFUL when you've actually got it booked and can start the countdown!!! The planning is half the fun!! :flower:

I always have to have some sort of trip in the pipeline!!!! We have to go to WDW at least once a year and DH gets to pick the other destinations the rest of the year... we always seem to end up in America or Canada though!!!! :teeth:

I love to plan ahead. We only started going on holiday in 2001 after a gap of ELEVEN years without any holidays. :scared1: Don't know how I survived! :scared1:
I get just as much pleasure out of planning a week in the UK as a holiday at Disney, well not QUITE as much pleasure :rotfl: but I still enjoy organising it all and I definitely like to have a planned trip to look forward to. We are spending 3 days in London prior to catching the Eurostar to DLP in August and I am enjoying planning things to do there.

DH and I love planning far ahead for our holidays - it's always nice to know there's something lined up ;)

However, we've come to a bit of a watershed point now. DDs are getting to the stage where we can't be sure whether they'll be coming with us any more (I know I've been saying this for at least five years, but it really has got to the point now where I think things are definitely changing  ). Eldest DD is more likely to want to come than youngest, but then there's always the possibility that one or other or both of them may want to bring a 'friend' to tag along at some point :confused3

We'd love to start planning for 2006 but can't decide when to go (will we need to take account of school / uni exams / term times?) or how many to book for!

And my DH thought I was bad ;)

I start planning our next holiday about a week to two weeks on return from the one we’ve just had. For this year we are off to the Dominican Republic in August so early September I should know and be planning for 2006.

Having said that I’m pretty sure I want to go back to WDW in 2006. I want to go at Christmas and I want to do a Disney cruise but this will of course depend hugely on our finances And also DH wants a new kitchen so depends who wins the war :)

Besides our main holiday we also have a couple of visits home to Scotland a year and every May we go for a week to Sunparks in Belgium. So as long as I have something planned I'm happy

Phew, I feel a little better now I see I'm not the only one ;)

We do try and plan ahead, but hubbies job isn't always as easy due to different leave patterns, which depending on the group he is in will determine if he gets the better leave patterns, or not as the case may be, but we always look ahead and hope for the best :wizard:
I know where I would love to permantely holiday too...........

I totally understand!! I seem to remember our DH's have the same employer Tracey....!!

Well I know what we are doing in 2005 :) and 2006

If we don't manage to aquire anymore DVC points, we will be having a break in 2007, then back to WDW in 2008 & 2009.

We like to have 3 or 4 booked with the next 2 or 3 planned. That's only 3 years so not so far ahead really.

Just back today from a Caribbean cruise so only 3 booked as of now!

Gill!

Welcome home! How was your cruise?

I currently have saving plans to pay for holidays until 2008 and DVC to cover accomodation. Hopefully DS will land himself a good job and he can pay for 2008;) In the future we are hoping to live in FLA....

Wow! How great for some of you to plan so, so far ahead! Great Thread :)

We are heading to WDW this August and are headed for DLRP for New Year's Eve. We are just planning a trip to Hong Kong in Autumn of 2006 or Spring of 2007.

Then, I'd love to "do" WDW at Christmas again some time, but after visiting WDW three times (and twice in the space of a few months) last year it may have to wait!

:jumping1:
