How far in advance for Entertainment Rate

For those of you who have booked a hotel using the Entertainment Book Rate. How far in advance did you book your hotel room?

It actually depends on the hotel. Some (HoJo for sure) will book a year in advance. While others won't book the Entertainment rate (Carousel, Del Sol) until 30 days prior to arrival. Those that choose this 30 day option are hoping to fill their rooms at regular rates, but then if they are not going to be full, will offer the Entertainment rate in hopes of filling up.

For a mid-December stay at the HoJo, I successfully got the Entertainment Book rate by calling in early August.

I still got the HOJO Entertainment rate for the week before christmas about 3 weeks ago.

What is the entertainment book rate for HOjo's? I suspect it is seasonal? I wonder if they even do those rates in July?

I just got one day with the superb Entertainment rate (not to be confused with the normal Ent rate for normal hotels...the HoJo Anaheim Ent rate is an entirely different situation!) for December 9th. And I looked ahead at a random date in January and found the Ent rate.

You could probably call the hotel directly, talk to in-house reservations, and ask them...they might know better than our anecdotes. :)

We are planning on going in April. I waited patiently for the hopper special and then for the 4th night free special. Because we are a family of 6 with 4 kids under 6, hojo doesn't really work for us this time. But a lot of the other hotels we are looking at are listed under the half off section. I was just curious if everyone had waited for the 30 day window to book or if they were able to call further in advance to get the rate.

I hate hate hate the phone so I like to be well informed before I call. It helps me not be so nervous. Looks like I can call now and ask I just have to build up the courage. :scared: Thanks.

I hate calling too (were you in my thread about that a few months ago?). If you DO call, make sure you are talking to the "in house" people, NOT the 800 number people. I once called directly but I could tell by the way it rang (long time ringing then some sort of beep and more rings before they picked up) that I had been shunted away from the hotel. She actually said "um, yes" when I asked if she was in house, but I questioned her a bit more (when the only Ent rate she knew of was the usual one directly from the book) and realized she was NOT there in the hotel.

Someone around here, dangermouse, I think? She actually has an email address to one of the HoJo Anaheim in house people...maybe she'll show up and give it out. :)

But if you want to, you can go to the HoJo Anaheim website (google hojo anaheim) and plug in the code SD50, which is the Ent rate. If it gives you something like 54 on a basic room, that's it. :)

That reminds me, I have to do my daily check for the 3 days that I "only" have the AP mousesavers rate with them (15% off rack rate), to see if the Ent rate is available...I'm not holding out much hope, but I check anyway!

OK I'm being a total idiot, not really reading your posts. sorry!!!!!!!!

Can't you book through entertainment.com, for non-hojo? Sign in to your account with your registered book, and go from there?

Sorry I wasn't really reading, just skimming. My brain is on some other things, and I apologize.

You can book through the entertainment site for the "best rates" but I've found that they are pretty much the same that the hotel websites offer. But there is also a 1/2 off rack rates section. There are a lot of hotels that people talk about here - BWPPI, Hojo, Camelot, etc. I was going to try to call a few of the suite places to see if I could get the 1/2 off rates. I know that it won't be as good as the hojo rate but every little penny saved is another penny I can spend on more Disney.

Thanks Bumbershoot for the code. I did not know that you could book the entertainment rate online. That is great to know for future visits!!!
