Does anyone know how far ahead you can book cash reservations?

cash reservations through CRO, DVC or a DVC member?

for the DVC member it is 11 months

for CRO - if they have availability - a member has traded out - 12 months

for DVC I think it is 11 months - also a member had to trade out again. (unless DVC is not during any updating/construction - then 4 to 5% that they kept can be rented)

Thanks, Pat. That's what I thought. I called Member Services earlier and they told me that you can only book 6 months ahead, even on points. I told him that was absolutely wrong so he checked again and told me that it was probably 11 months. I had no confidence in that answer after the first response that I received so I figured I'd ask here where I knew I'd get the right answer.

I then called CRO to see about booking a cash reservation there. I understand that I would not be able to get the member discount that way but I wanted to see if I'd be able to book any sooner. They gave me the 6 month answer. Maybe I'll call back tomorrow and they'll tell me something else.

Thanks again.

MS will rarely have any cash reservations at 11 months. Since these reservations come from "member" inventory, there must be a history of availability for the time you want- the first priority for reservations is always based on points.

Once MS has reasonable confidence that a certain date will not be needed for point reservations, they will release that date for cash. This usually means it's available at 6 months - after all owners have had opportunity to reserve and non-home members have also had a chance to make a point reservation.

At 60 days- all rooms unreserved by members are released for cash reservations to the general public.

CRO is not likely to have much cash availability until 6 months ahead for most dates.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Doc, I appreciate the info. As usual, you have all the answers!

Doc:

If your timeline is correct, how was I able to book a one bedroom at BWV five plus months in advance? I'm not a DVC member yet (general public) and I bought a discounted package from WDTC.
