How far in advance do you need to book?

Hello to all you DCL veterans! :wave2:
I have been looking at my bank of DVC points and am thinking that DH, DS and I need to sample a 3 day cruise!
We are an active duty military family and will be moving to our new base in April 2004. Given that, DH cannot submit his leave request until he arrives at his new duty station. What are the chances that we will be able to get a 3 day cruise cat 6 cabin for sometime in either September or October 2004 if we don't book until May? I know that may sound crazy, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

You can only book with DVC 11 months in advance of your cruise. Once you book, the payment will be made in full with all the applicable rules.

With that said, I belive Sept and Oct are value season. Chances are you should be able to get reservations in May 2004 for Sept or Oct 2004.

We are also AD military, make sure before you sail you call DCL and ask if they are running a military discount. Even if you have already booked they will still honor it and give you a credit. They were not running a discount for the sailing we have booked now, but I have my fingers crossed that one will come out before we sail.

One thing to keep in mind is that often it seems that adults can book rather last minute - but the kids clubs get to capacity much earlier.

That said, you still have six months and are traveling in an off season, I'd think you'd be fine.
