How far in advance do you book?

My family members are Florida residents, so when I come to visit and we decide to go to Disney when I'm there my dad just calls and sees what Florida resident rooms are available and then we get into the car and drive a few hours and we're at Disney.

We book as early or as late as we decide to go. Last year we booked in Aug for Dec, Dec for Jan, and this year July for Dec.

We are DVC members so I book the moment my 11 month window opens, however, I've probably been working on what I want to book for 2 months prior to that.

We are going on a cruise next August and I booked that about a year and a half in advance.

I couldn't vote because I book at varying intervals. There are typically three times per year that are standard WDW visits for me, and those I book as far out as a good discount comes out. With the bounceback offers they've had the past couple years, that's worked out to 9-12 months ahead. But I also book shorter trips, maybe 4-6 days long, and those could be any time of year, and booked far ahead or with as little as 3-4 days notice. Sometimes it's fun to just think "I'd like to go to WDW this weekend" and just book and go.

Our first trip in August 2000 my parents booked in April 1999. Normally we travel with Virgin and they seem to only allow 1 year in advance bookings. Who do people in the UK and RoI book with that allow them to book more than 12 months in advance?

Just booked our 2 week trip for Sept 24, 2011!!! Also making monthly payments to help spread out the costs and we are horrible at saving for trips since stuff always seem to "come up". Now any extra money can go straight to Disney (out of sight, out of mind). But we will need to build up some cash for airfare!

I usually book around 6 months out, when discounts first become available for my travel dates (usually through my Disney Visa). However, about an hour ago, I booked a trip for September 2011, but that's primarily because they've already opened free dining and the F&WF will be going on too!

Usually about a year out. If a discount comes up then I cancel and re-book.

I voted over a year because that is what I did for this upcoming trip. I have never booked quite as far out before, but usually about a year is average. Flight prices are released here 11 months prior to return so if you want a decent (ish) price, it is good planning to get onto them as soon as they are released.

Who do people in the UK and RoI book with that allow them to book more than 12 months in advance?

Disney UK is one of them. Virgin packages and fly drives allow it too. Complete Orlando, Thomas Cook and Thomsons also do similar releases of packages so far in advance.

Have booked anywhere from 3 months out the first time, to just 4 weeks prior to the second time! I am really looking forward to see what it feels like to book a year in advance because that is what we want to do this time around. (Book this summer for next August)

3 months out was GREAT. Got the couple of ADRs we wanted and just enough time to obsess

5 weeks out was kind of crazy but very exciting! It kind of felt surreal at first We had a little trouble finding Dining reservations for popular restaurants, so we mostly did quick service which turned out being just fine.

This time I want to book and see if I can just leave that in the back of my mind for a little bit and concentrate on vacation savings fund and every day life. YEAH RITE!

We book as soon as we know our dates and where we want to stay. We booked our June trip in October.

I voted 9-12 months in advance. We are actually here now and booked this trip shortly after we got back home in July last year. We go once a year and we book as soon as we know the school calendar dates for the following year.

I voted 6-9 months in advance since the 9 month mark is the earliest I do the actual booking and pay the deposit. I like to be booked definitely before the 6 month mark so that I have a plan for what ADR's I want to make and on which day. We usually have our months park hours released before the 180 mark so I can finalize the actual day we want to do certain meals. I just like having it booked 9 months in advance... it feels more real and keeps me on the boards everyday planning! I like knowing how much I will owe well in advance, which is nice so that I can pay the trip off before the 45 day mark.

We're hoping to go in August 2014.

We'll book as soon as the 2014 prices are released-- probably June of this year.

Once we book, I feel as though the clock is ticking and I'm in full find-the-discounts, savings mode... not to mention full planning mode.

The anticipation is almost as much fun as the trip itself, so I love booking early.

I book as soon as the AAA discounts are released for the following year. Usually they are released in August but in 2012, they were released in June. So roughly about a year in advance.
