How far ahead of a trip can you ship items to yourself?

Hello -we are staying at Yacht Club in two weeks - I have several little bottles of hand sanitizer that I want to send to myself so I don't go over the liquid limit for carry ons or over the weight limit for checked luggage.....since mail has been slow, I planned to ship them out tomorrow morning but am wondering how long YC would hold on to it (or even know that I would be coming?)

Also wondering how to GET said package once I arrive, if it arrives before we check in, would they put it in our room? We have never shipped anything ahead of our arrival before so I don't know how it works.

See this thread: >> Shipping To & From Disney Resorts FAQ <<

So I know you can send packages early and in advance of your stay but do keep in mind you need to make sure your shipment reads GUEST and has the correct mailing address. I would not ship it regular mail USPS unless you track it since there's no telling when it would show up. I would recommend UPS/FedEx.Keep in mind there is a package handling fee $6 or $8 so to ship sanitizer that cost $4 will probably cost you more than just buying it at WDW. It's better to either buy it on site or just do a small grocery delivery if you need bottled water or other incidentals.

Thank you, very helpful. We are pretty particular and sensitive to the brands that we use for Hand Sanitizer due to the frangrances (A term used loosely as some are downright unpleasant!) and I have a HUGE supply of pocketsized bottles in our preferred brand, so the shipping and disney fee are worth it to me to know we are covered with what we prefer to use and don't have to worry about stocking up while we are there.

You might want to double check carrier restrictions, since hand sanitizer is liquid and flammable. (USPS will only ship it in small quantities via ground transportation)

If it's something you can get via PrimeNow, that might be the much EASIER (and cheaper) way to go.

This might be a little different from the Disney owned resorts, but I had an interesting experience at Swan/Dolphin that is relevant to share:
I stayed at the Swan mid-October 2020 for about a week. While I was there, I had a medical device failure, which I needed to have replaced ASAP. I called the manufacturer, and got a replacement lined up to be shipped out, in case I couldn't obtain one locally. I ended up purchasing a replacement at a local pharmacy, and was good to go.
I contacted the manufacturer to get my warranty replacement sent to my home address, since it hadn't shipped yet. They agreed, but after I arrived home, with about a week of waiting, I didn't get the warranty replacement. I contacted the manufacturer, and they didn't update the address properly, so they'd shipped one to the Swan. They went ahead and sent out another one to me at my home address
Fast forward to this past month (June/July 2021), where I had a 5-night stay at the Dolphin. When I checked into my room, I had a message on my voicemail alerting me that I had a package waiting at Guest Services from the medical device manufacturer.

TL;DR: At least at the Swan and Dolphin you could potentially get a shipment 8 months later! YMMV, and I wouldn't recommend sending something so far in advance.

Order and have it delivered for free with Prime Now. They will deliver the same day or next day depending on what is available. If under $35 there is a small fee.

You should be fine. Several good suggestions above but if you do decide to ship ahead of time, make the recipient your name and make sure you put your arrival date (and ideally your reservation number) in the address, and ship using a trackable method such as USPS Priority Mail. For example:

JOHN DOE
ARRIVAL 08/05 RES 412345678123
DISNEY CONTEMPORARY RESORT
4600 N WORLD DR
LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL 32830-8413

Disney recommends that you do not put the reservation number in the address for security reasons.

The thread I linked to in Post #2 provides the recommended addressing method.
