i put in an aplication at my local zoo for a junior zoo keeper program for people ages 14-17 and wrote my essay and got my letter of recomendation in by the date on the webpage and waited for a call from them and what do i see in the paper?? an add extending the date!!! now i have to wait even longer!! SHEESH , i'm gonna die of impatient syndrom, i swear it was i not good enough maybe?????

Then I suppose I shouldn't brag or tell you that I got my job at the zoo by just walking in and talking to the manager for about 20 minutes. This 20 minute talk wasn't for an interview, it was just normal day chit chat. One month later I received a phone call for employment and have just loved it ever since. I've been at our zoo since March 22nd and can't wait to be cross trained in all the different areas.

Don't lose hope. It may not mean anything that they extended the deadline. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. It sounds like a very exciting program!

I'd be as frustrated as you are! It does seem unfair. They may have some quota of how many applications they need to have before they can select someone, though (I worked at a place like that once)--that could explain it. At any rate, I wish you the best! Let us know how it turns out!
