How expensive is the candy @ World Showcase?

We are going to WDW the week after Thanksgiving. I was wondering how expensive is the candy around World Showcase? I was thinking of getting a variety and buying Christmas tins or jars the day after Thanksgiving. I thought this might be a cool but price savvy Christmas gifts.

Be prepared to drop a bundle! My kids love to do "Candy Around the World" so I'm quite familiar with the prices. The Curly Wurlys we can get at a local tea room for $1.00 are $2.25 in the UK shop. The Japanese candy we can get at our local Asian market for $1.00 or less is $2-3.00 at EPCOT. There are very few large bags of assorted candy so you will be stuck paying by the piece, which can get pricey. China had a couple of larger bag options and Germany sells medium-size bags of gummy candies, but that is about it.

WOW thanks for the info I may have to come up with another idea.

I bought candy around the World Showcase in June. It wasn't expensive at all. They have a wide range of prices. You'll have lots of options. I know some of the candy was .25 cents. It's a lot of fun. I'm sure you'll enjoy it -- as I did.

I LOVE Curly Wurlys - they are pretty much like the Marathon Bar that we had here in the US when I was a kid. The Marathon Bar was a bit bigger, but the Curly Wurly hits the spot for that nostalgia for me when in Epcot!

Wish I could get them other times and for only $1....

Wow! Where did you find it so cheap? We have been doing Candy Around the World for years and have never seen anything for $.25.

We found it in Italy and Japan. They have great candy shops!

I'll have to look next time. All we found in Italy was the Perugina (sp?) chocolates that were far more than $.25. In Japan everything we found was at least $1.00 (rice candy). If we can find something for $.25 that would be great. Were they just bite-size pieces? I'm thinking that would still add up to quite a lot if the OP wants to bring back enough to fill jars, but for us it would be great.

yes the candy in Italy that is .25 is just 1 piece...there are some that are .89+ in Italy for 1 piece. We always get candy around the world but it is for just us, it would not be an economical Christmas gift or anything.

DD loves the candy in Italy - back behind the "bar" (where you can get a glass of Rosa Regale - the Berry Champagne! YUM!)

Last time she was there the lady behind the counter :wizard: spread some Disney Magic and gave her 1 of every flavor! (I dont know how much she spent, she carries her own money!)

It's pretty darn pricey - at least twice the cost of what you can find at World Market.

When I was a kid, it seemed like most of the candy/goods sold in the World Showcase were pretty darn rare and not easily found outside of Epcot. But now you can walk into places like World Market and buy the same stuff at half the cost. It makes it great for people like me who fall in love with something sold in Epcot and want it more than once a year, but it also means the stuff isn't unique anymore.
