About this time, very deep in the jungle, despite all the DDT we were drenched in - we started getting bit. Another round of the trusty SSS super duper whatever & they backed off - for a bit.
My favorite part monkeys (jr has an aversion to them - face your fears! it worked sorta) After we got done convincing him that the natives were friendly, we spotted this guy chained up in a tree. Evidently, that was the time out tree - he had taken a bite out of a tourist
a little too up close & personal
he luved jr, kept trying to sit on his head
by end of visit, jr was ready to take his friend home...had to peel him off lol
hey, it was the 2nd best high-point of my trip (after tomorrow's recap )
you haven't lived until you've had a furry monkey butt...in your face (gives new meaning to the taunt lol)
perhaps TMI, but shockingly the monkey didn't smell @ all (i was figuring it'd be like the stinky zoo animals; that general gross smell waifting thru the air; but nooo )
he always tried to wrap his tail (with strong force -guess it's a carryover from swinging from the branches ) around whatever part of your body he could find (arm, neck, head...) and jumped around very light & gracefully from one peep to the next and back as the mood struck him...very
