How easy to change theme park reservation?

I’m getting ready to make all my dining and tour reservations next week. Stress!!! Anyhow, we are hoping to do a Keys of the Kingdom tour one day. I believe you need MK theme park reservations for this. Right now, I have Epcot reserved that day. If we don’t get on the tour, I’d prefer Epcot, but if we do successful reserve the tour, I need to switch to MK.

What would you recommend….change theme parks now to MK keeping my fingers crossed we get the tour? Or leave Epcot and change once the tour reservation is made?

As of now, both theme parks have availability, however it is school vacation week so I think it may get busy.

Thanks

Most likely easy. But why don't you just switch to MK. The odds of MK becoming unavailable this far out is somewhat slim but the odds of Epcot being unavailable are basically zero so you can easily switch to Epcot if you need to. But exceptionally unlikely you'll have an issue either way.

I would change it to MK. Then if you get the tour you're good, and unless it's super de duper bonkers crazy, Epcot rarely becomes unavailable.
They must have bumped up capacity numbers, this time last year, the calendar was starting to become a patchwork of yellows and grays.

OR demand is way down...

Your safest bet is to switch to MK now. MK and DHS are always the parks most likely to be at capacity.

Are you staying on site? Last summer, we were staying at Beach Club. I had a MK reservation but wanted to switch to DHS. Both were full, but a CM was able to make the change for me. I think staying on-site helped, as did the fact that I was giving up a MK reservation which is the most popular park.

All it takes is one look at the people in the parks and you know this is NOT the case.
They have added more reservations this year compared to last.
No ifs, ands or buts about that.
Staffing is up, and that's why reservations where capped lower
No need to cap them so low now.
Well, if you ask me no reason to have them now at all. But that's another subject

General question:
During our trip, we may want to change theme park day reservations.

example:
monday morning comes, if we have MK, but decide to go to Epcot instead and we see it available; can we cancel the MK and book Epcot that morning or are we forced to start MK and then hop to Epcot later that afternoon?

You can cancel one reservation and make another for an available park the day of.
