How easy is it to get from Charles De Gaulle to DLRP?

Daft question, but is it signposted??

Sorry, I'm just trying to figure out what the easiest (and cheapest!) way to get to DLRP will be...

It is signposted, its really easy. If you want to get the direct disney eurostar you will either have to get a really early train, or stay over night in London the night before like we did :)

Hmmmmm...................................... I shall present the facts to his Lordship and see what he says!

Hope everything comes together and you're able to book your trip Bob. :thumbsup2

The first time either me or Rob flew it was to CDG Terminal 2, we couldn't find the VEA signs so I just followed the other families with DLP luggage tags, but in actual fact it's very easy to navigate. I was slightly worried this time when I found out we were flying into Terminal 1 as it looked more complicated, but it seems I wouldn't have had anything to worry about. As it's just you and Rob though it might work out cheaper to get a shared shuttle through RS Transports, which is what I opted for, it was about 15 euros cheaper for us and I believe that our driver will meet us in the departure lounge, so it couldn't be easier. :)

Unless you really want to get the train (I must admit i've toyed with the idea, I think it's the kid in me who just loves getting the train!!) i'd honestly fly, it's soo quick and easy from Liverpool or Manchester (and usually cheaper than travelling down south and getting the train/tunnel/ferry) The VEA shuttle is signposted really well now (when I went in 2003 it wasn't particularly but they've refurbished the terminals since then and it was much better in 2006/7) Believe me if I can find it then anyone can, i've got lost in car parks in the past :rotfl: I've considered the TGV (fast train) from the airport but i'm so dozy i'd probably end up in Brussels :upsidedow

Hi Bob,

Hope this is gonna help, but myself, the wife and My 2 year old son have just booked our 3rd trip for May.

I've looked at trains from Newcastle to London, then eurostar and just found it a no go. It's just as easy to fly with easyjet. My flights just cost £204 return from NCL to CDG.

From the other end I've looked into getting the TGV but countless people have told me although slightly cheaper and faster, it's a bit of a hassle, especially with baggage.

We've always got the VEA shuttle. Easyjet fly into T2 and CDG, when you pick up your baggage walk out of the terminal and turn left. Keep walking and you'll see the bus stop.

It is very easy to find and very convienient too. Rember when you get off the TGV at the other end you will also have to walk to your hotel, or take a Disney bus. The VEA will drop you right at the door (presuming your staying on propety that is) :)

Hope it helps

I've already bought my ticket for the VEA, so I hope it's easy to find! Anyone have any idea which terminal at CDG I'll be flying in to coming from the States? I guess I'll have to go through customs first, too.

A related question: how easy is it to get from DLRP to Paris, specifically the 19e arrondissement? I'll be by myself and I don't speak much French, so I'm considering taking the cowardly (and expensive) way out and just calling a taxi to take me from the Hotel Cheyenne to my hostel in Paris. Any thoughts??

Its really easy to get into central Paris from DLP - you get on the RER which takes you right there - you then may need to change onto the metro system.
Do you know which is your nearest metro station to your hostel and we'll help you work out the route on the metro

Thank you, A Small World!!!

My hostel's website says this (re: coming from CDG, but it mentions the RER):

From Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport (45 Minutes)

Catch the RER B toward Saint Remy les Chevreuses and get off at Gare du Nord Station. Catch line 5 towards Bobigny-Pablo-Picasso and get off at Laumiere station, come out of Exit 1, walk straight on for 300m until you come to a cross roads. Turn left and walk for 3 minutes until you cross a bridge over the canal.

Does that adapt easily to coming from DLRP?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Take the RER A from Marne La Vallee Chessy to Nation.
From Nation take Line 2 (Porte Dauphine) and get off at Jaures.
Catch line 5 towards Bobigny-Pablo-Picasso and get off at Laumiere station (next stop).
Come out of Exit 1, walk straight on for 300m until you come to a cross roads.
Turn left and walk for 3 minutes until you cross a bridge over the canal.

Nation station is bottom right.

We went into Paris for the first time on our last trip, and although I found the RER/Metor to be fine to Navigate, we found that there are a lot of stairs, and no lifts in a lot of the stations.

We found this hard as had our son who was about 18 months. So if you have baggage/strollers be warned! :)
