How early does the TTC ferry start running?

(on a day the MK opens at 9)

I've heard conflicting reports.

Some say, about an hour before park opening (e.g., 8 am).

Others say, around 6:30 am.

We have an 8 am ADR in MK. I understand the resort monorail will be running by then, but wanted to check our options in the event the monorail is down.

If the monorail is down they will come up with some other form of transportation, they are not going to leave paying customers stranded at the TTC. Well maybe but that was only one time when people wanted to get to the MK at 6:30 or even earlier to stand in line for 40th aniversery merchandise.

It's the resort to park buses that start running at 6:30. The Resort monorail starts by 7am....not sure what time the Express line starts. I doubt the ferry starts running before 7am...probably an hour prior to park opening.

The ferry starts at 8am on a day when the park opens at 9. Checklists are barely even started at 6:30am, no way they could be in operation that early except those rare circumstances like the 40th anniversary.

if you show up at 7:50 or so sometimes they will let you get on the boat and head across, but it depends on the crew and manager. But 8am is definitely the start time, no later than that.

edit: If rails are down then the ferries will go into operation as soon as they are able to, but that varies based on the day. They will also bring up buses.

I was hoping you would show up and give us the definitive word!!! Thanks.

The OP didn't mention whether they're staying onsite. If they are...the best way to get to the MK is a direct bus from their resort.

At least as of 2005, on early magic hours mornings at Magic Kingdom the express monorail and the ferry have sometimes made their first trips arriving at MK as late as 15 minutes before public opening.

For earlier restaurant reservations or tours, use the resort monorail.

This was my experience as well. On an 7 am EMH in 2010, they did not load the monorail at the TTC until 7 am. We were late for the start of the EMH. :-(. I won't try that again. Especially since we could have taken the bus.
