You didn't say what time of year you will be going. That is a major factor! We checked in at 11 am last January 2nd, and got right into our room with no problem... but it all depends on the time of year, capacity of the resort, how many people are checking out, your room request... and many other factors. If your room isn't ready, check your luggage, pre check in and get your room key. They will give you a phone number you can call from any Disney phone to see if your room is ready, and go enjoy yourselves. Once your room is ready, and you get up there, push the button on the phone with the picture of the suitcase above it, and they will bring your luggage. It will take about 30-45 minutes to get it. Take whatever you might need in the meantime in a backpack. Also, be aware that unlike when we stayed at the Contemporary in January, the North Wing is now filling in for Shades of Green, so the availability of rooms for regular guests is less... therefore you may not get into your room early.
