I can only guess if a cop pumped 9 bullets into your unarmed child's head that you wouldn't be against these so called riots. There are MANY eyewitnesses who have the same story - the boy ran, stopped, and put his hands in the air and then executed. First the cop car had a dash cam then it didn't. Now the officer is on paid vacation. Welcome to the 1960's again, except more cities were on fire then.
This is disgusting.
So that makes it ok to loot businesses? How about if they had a town meeting instead? Their opinions would have been a lot more valid if they had not committed criminal acts. Does the looting give them more credibility?
I will not tell a people that have had it with the police and have reached their boiling point, NOT to react or how to react!!! FYI, don't listen to the media about what is going on...he did NOT wrestle with the police, push the police or try and grab his gun! There were eye witnesses that saw what happened... multiple. Just search #ripmikemike on twitter ... this happened in a very crowded apartment complex, with many watching.
They are rioting business that profit from them and profile them EVERY DAY. Burned the QuikTrip down because they said "ok, maybe he stole a piece of candy" as this somehow justifies him being executed while his hands were in the air.
If you don't know what these communities have to face DAILY, I don't think you are in a place to judge. Some people are MLK Jr's. some are Malcolm X's ... if you don't live there, you don't know what they are facing.
The reaction to loot is ok. Your post makes no sense. Sam's and Hobby Lobby make money off of me. If I get ticked off, I have the right to loot their business?
What about what the police have to face daily?
It's not to be understood. It's not the actions of people thinking rationally.
No we can't wait for an investigation because the investigation will lead to what it always leads to when police kill African Americans. No where.
That's where the anger comes from. you have over 200 years of an unjust system maiming and killing your youth. you no longer believe in the system.
I certainly don't. I know that at any time the police can kill my sons for absolutely no reason and not a dang thing will be done.
No I don't condone looting but I do not in any shape, form or fashion trust the legal system in this country.
So what you are seeing is a group of people who no longer have any thing to lose. the police will kill us when they want, any time they want and get away with it.
Not a thing has change since 1619 when the first African slaves were brought here. We are still a disposable people.
Government leaders in 1619 were Caucasian. Today we have an African-American President, an African- American Attorney-General, 44 African-Americans in the House and Senate, and 650 African-American mayors. I think things have changed since 1619.
We have African-American police officers in our small southern town and the African-American community prefers Caucasian officers responding to their calls because the African-American police officers are harder on them.
If where some of you live is that bad, why not move? It might be a longer drive but if it means you and your children are safer, it makes sense, doesn't it? I'd take a loss on my house to move if I felt like my family was in danger.
