How does transferring points work?

Say I have a UY at OKW in February, and buy points to be transferred into my account. How does that work with UY? Are those points just permanently in my control once transferred? How soon can someone transfer points to me?

In other words, I know I can book 11 months ahead, but what about the other person's points?

I am very close to buying at OKW (got a great offer of $70/point for 50 points), but it's a small contract that we may add on certain years and I want to make sure it is relatively easy.

I believe the transferred points stay with their original use year which may put a limit on how far in advance you can make a reservation. You will want to check on the use year before purchasing points to be transferred. I have done it twice and it is a simple process.
