Day 3: Head for Contemporary for dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse, then out to either the Cont. or Polynesian's beach to watch MVMCP fireworks.

might that be some other fireworks or am I all turned around? Actually re-reading your schedule you didn't really say when your trip was planned for, did you? Maybe you DO mean MVMCP! My brains is just still in August.

To me that means Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Anyway sounds like you are going to try to get a lot of swimming in. Hope you have loads and lots of fun.

I'm heading down to WDW the day after Thanksgiving through the first week of December. Since I have decided to skip going into the MK for MVMCP, I thought I would just grab the fireworks from one of the MK resort beaches.:earsgirl: :jester:

Since I am going from like 20 degrees (or lower) in Massachusetts to warmer weather in Florida :teeth:, I want to take advantage of getting some swimming in (including sitting in the hot tub), since it will be several months from then before it's warm enough up here.
:earseek:

Just bumping this up to see if anyone else has any suggestions, comments, etc.

Thanks again for your input!

I don't know if you will be able or want to do EMH each and every day. It gets exhausting, to say the least, and sleeping in or avoiding EMH some days is a must for us! EMH starting the Tuesday after T'giving is really only advantageous in MK. It is a waste in the other parks IMHO.
BTW, we love WL in Dec and took advantage of that pool each day also.:D Enjoy! We will be at AKL this time. :D

Wow, that's a great photo.

How many people in your party, Terk-1? For three to five people, I think you'd be better off with a towncar service than Mears. Just a thought.

Also, Wonderlandmom has a point about EMH. It depends on the makeup of your group, though, and whether everyone is a morning person. Those afternoon breaks will help either way.

Sincerely,

Len

lentesta,

Thanks for the compliment on the photo! I was up early one morning and decided to take a stroll around the property, since it was so quiet. This amazing sunrise was coming up over the trees facing the Wilderness Lodge that I just had to take a picture and hope that it would come out. To the right of the photo you can see the Tahiti building.

This is going to be a solo trip, so it's just going to be me. I'm an early riser naturally, so doing EMH daily is not a problem. I actually love getting to the parks early. Some days I go to get the EMH attractions taken care of. Other days, I just stroll around and really take in everything. Like at the Magic Kingdom, I will slowly stroll down Main Street, looking at all the windows and listening to the soft music playing in the background. At EPCOT, watching the fountains dance with the music and on my last visit to the Animal Kingdom, I took my time and walked slowly around the Tree of Life looking at all the animals.

Afternoon breaks are a must! This gives my tootsies a break from all the walking and lessens the blisters.

Terk 1...we're from Mass. also and will be there at the exact same time. We're also early risers and love early admission especially at MK. Most mornings we spend at a table outside the bakery watching the faces of people walking up the street towards the castle.Look for us!

snowgooseltd,

I'll look for you!!! I went down the same time last year and really enjoyed it. Wish the weather was a wee bit warmer though, but coming from 20 degrees, anything warmer is better. There were a couple of days that it was down right nippy, but being the prepared New Englander, I had my fleece sweatshirt & gloves. I saw some people who were in t-shirts & shorts freezing and had to chuckle and say to myself "not one of us NE's.":)

I just love the peacefulness in the parks early in the morning. When I went to AK last year, there was several people in front of the tree and no one on the rest of the paths around the tree. You could hear the AK music playing softly in the background and I swear I could have spent hours looking at all the different carvings.

Hey Terk. No ideas on your plan, but did want to say how beautiful your picture is!!!! Stunning.

I will be there same time as you, would enjoy meeting up with you.

Terk....I loved the sentiment under your ID. We, too, are Disney freaks and get down as often as possible. We were there for Thanksgiving and the following week last year but decided that we missed NE and it's tradions at that time of the year so we're headed down on Friday, the 28th, instead. Where are you flying from? We use T.F.Green rather than Boston and fly SWA. We'll be on the first flight out that morning.
We originate in Somerset, MA. Where are you located? We're also pin fanatics so if you're looking for us at the bakery, we'll be the ones laden down with lanyards.......talk soon.
ps....your picture is breathtaking!!

Just a small change to the original post. I have switched from the Swan for 2 nights to the Caribbean Beach for 2 nights for a few reasons. Cost ($88 vs. $165 per night) & ease of transfer between resorts. Called today to see if the 1st two nights were available at the WL, but nothing as of yet. The CM said just to keep checking back to see if the first two days become available. She was very nice and told me that the "Woods" view (A/P rate) at the WL had become available during my visit and was I interested in changing. I said yes and saved some more money! YIPEEEE!!! :)

AAAHHHHHHH!!! This trip is just not coming fast enough!!!!!
