For a 3 day cruise with just me and my 12yo dd, I am thinking we fly down Thursday, stay at POR, take magical express to the port and back to the airport afterwards. I assume that can be done, right? And I can get a free shuttle from the airport to the resort? And Disney will take our bags to the port? I want to keep it simple since it is just the two of us. Any other tips? We cruised once before but it was the whole family, combined with a trip to universal, and we rented a car and stayed off site, so Disney transportation is new to me. Thanks!

Magical Express is the free shuttle from MCO to WDW resorts. DCL transfers from resort to port, and port to MCO cost $35.00 per person each leg.

If you use DCL transfers, yes, they will handle your checked bags.

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know!

I'll add that DCL is so easy breezy lemon queezy! It's absolutely effortless and they make the trip a lot of fun, especially going to MCO after the cruise. That's always such a sad time and they make it a part of your vacation so it doesn't have to end as soon as you step off the ship.

As the previous posters have indicated, you can do what you are looking for with a combination of Magical Express (from airport to resort) and DCL transfers (resort to port and port to airport). Just be sure to add one way Magical Express to your resort reservation and round trip transfers to your DCL reservation. When you contact DCL to add transfers, let them know you are going from a resort. I like to remind the resort when I check in. The night before the cruise, they give you a letter telling you what time (and where) to meet the bus and what time they will begin luggage pick-up (usually around 8am). There is generally one bus departure time for each resort and can vary from cruise to cruise. The morning of the cruise, there will be a cruise representative in the hotel lobby area to answer questions. They do try to make it very easy.

Thank you! That sounds just like the easy I am looking for! Your answer is very helpful.

For your return you can also do airline check for several airlines and they will even check your bags all the way through for you.
Onboard Airline Check-in program if you have purchased Disney Cruise Line ground transfers. This convenient service allows guests to skip the hassle of carrying your bags, and waiting to check in at the airport. If you tell the Cast Members as you check in for your cruise prior to boarding at Port Canaveral that you'll be participating in this service, you will receive your boarding passes and luggage tags the in your stateroom the day prior to disembarkation. Just leave your bags out the night before you disembark as usual with the correct airline tags, and you won't see them again until you arrive back at your home airport.
