How does splitting stay at 2 resorts affect MYW Package

If I switch resorts during my stay and wanted the Dining Plan, would I have to book 2 separate packages and have to get at least one base ticket for each? It seems like switching resorts would not be a good deal if that is the case.

We are doing this Oct 4-12. I have the package w/free dining Oct 4-9th at CBR and doing 3 days Oct 9-12th at POP/room only. I do not have the dining the last 3 days but 6 day tickets with the 4 add-ons will fill up the whole time. I am not sure about the 2 packages or being able to switch.

Yes, you are penalized with a split stay under the MYW package. You have to book two separate packages, ie two sets of tickets which can be 1 day or more, in order to get the dining plan.

It is unfair when the resort stays are continuous that you still need to buy two separate sets of tickets. We are not doing the MYW pkg in Dec. because we are park hopping (POP, GF & BC).

So unless Disney offers free dining promotion, you might be better off getting room only reservations.

Yes you have to get two sets of tickets, but you should not actually use the second set unless the total vacation spans eleven or more theme park days. Instead book one of the sets of tickets long enough to span the entire vacation.
