How does pool hopping work

How does the pool hopping perk work? Can DVC members use the pools at any disney resort? Are there any restrictions?

technically, you are supposed to have the front desk of your resort(okw,bwv,vwl) call over to the resort at which you would like to pool hop to. they can check to see whether or not that pool is expected to be at capacity. during the busy times/holidays, stormalong bay at the yc/bc does get very crowded and the pool hopping perk may not be allowed. we usually stay at bwv so sab is just a short walk around the lake for the kids (14-23).

Additionally, you must be staying at a resort "on points". When you do so, the words "DVC Memeber" will be printed on your resort ID. At some of the more busy resorts you will have to show that ID upon entry to the pool. April and the time around Easter are the busiest times for some of the more popular pools.
