How does Mousekeeping clean the glasses?

You know Palmolive used to make disposable dish wash wipes for travel. They had a little detergent in them and you could scrub out a sippy cup or whatever. I don't know if they still make them?

I use sponges. I put Dawn on them, let them dry, then cut them in 1/8ths. You just wet them, use them, and toss them out. They are a great size for mugs.

i used to buy those for things that i didn't want to use my real sponge for. i haven't been able to find them recently though...

WOW--that IS a great idea. Thanks for the tip!

This is a thread about resort rooms and cleanliness. I think it belongs here on the resort board.
I must admit, I'd rather just have some disposable cups. I am not a clean freak, but I never trusted that the housekeepers are getting clean glasses from a dishwasher. I suspect that they just rinse them in the sink of the room. Maybe Disney could get some nice logo for each resort paper cups?

That video was repulsive! I, like Terk-1, tend to use the refillable mugs if we stay at a WDW resort. I like the sponge idea...I'm going to have to try that.

EWWWW!!! :scared1: I've always felt a little funny about drinking out of hotel glasses, but everyone else in my family doesn't seem to mind. From now on, I'll either bring plastic cups, or try the sponge idea.

Wow! why didnt I think of that?? Were CBR freaks and stay there every year, so far, we havent came back with any fungus or anything so I think Iam o.k. I did see that video on t.v. and it grossed me out as well. I do however bring a travel size of dish soap just to wash out our mugs, but now Iam going to wash out our glasses too. I also bring a travel size can of lysol too,.,. you can never be to safe I guess.

We bring a sleeve of those red plastic cups when we go, of course, we also bring our own sheets and pillowcases and clean tubs and showers ourselves first.

Oh my word.

We go to europe every year and hike from inn to inn, hotel to hotel, b&b to b&b. Some hotels are great and some are not. But we're LIVING! Bring your own sheets and pillowcases???? Why travel?

Only use the pastic cups that are sealed.

we always just bring our own small bathroom disposable cups to use when brushing our teeth - otherwise, it's the refillable mug or a water bottle (never never never the "glasses"!!!)

I used to be a housekeeper at a "Select Registry" (like 5 star) B&B. We were told to wash the comforters, once every 4 months, and the matress pads every 2 months! Unless visible stains were present! (gag) Trust me, those glasses are the least of your problems! But what's a vacation if you're gonna stress about germs? Have Fun!!!!

I already explained it once, b/c my child has a skin condition that does not need to be irritated. But..as long as I don't ask anyone else to change the sheets or anything for me, and it doesn't bother me, then it's ok ya know? We own a $30,000 camper that we generally stay in when we travel, b/c of the same reason, it's important to US.

I have a friend that used to work as a housekeeper in an upscale resort. She has said she would sooner lick surfaces in the bathroom than use the coffee pot at the hotel. The bathroom is cleaned often, the coffee pot is not and she has some truly disgusting stories about things she has seen in those coffee pots. :scared1: The water gets hot in them but not hot enough to sterilize it.

We use the plastic cups when available and will ask for a few extra paper cups from the food court if there are none in our room. They always have "water cups" to give so it's not a problem.

 This is a discussion that I really should not read right now. I am already a little germophobic.
